The latest Macan GTS has been unveiled, but if you are wondering what makes the latest addition to the Macan line-up special, we have narrowed down the most noticeable features for you.
The Macan GTS has an impressive 2.9-litre twin-turbocharged engine with direct fuel injection. The V6 engine can produce a maximum power of 380 PS and a maximum torque of 520 Nm. Compared to the standard Macan 2.0 litre, this is 135 PS and 150 Nm more.
The Macan GTS comes with 20-inch RS Spyder Design wheels in satin black as standard. A special option that the Macan GTS offers in the wheel department is to have 21-inch Sport Classic wheels, with paint finish to match the exterior colour of your Porsche. A definite must-have if you are trying to make your Macan stand out from the crowd.
The front brakes on the Macan GTS are internally vented 6-piston aluminium monobloc fixed caliper brakes. On the GTS, the brake calipers are red with 360mm discs at the front and 330mm discs at the rear, so definitely enough stopping power for the extra performance from the engine. The base level Macan has 4-piston brakes which are 15mm smaller on the front and are in black – a quick way to tell which Macan you are looking at without being able to see the model designation!
One of the most emotive parts of driving a Porsche is the sound it makes. The Macan GTS has had an upgrade from two single silver exhaust tailpipes seen on the Macan, and now has the Sports Exhaust System with two twin exhaust tailpipes in black.
If you thought that having LED lights was the latest in cutting edge automotive technology, then think again. The black LED headlights on a Macan GTS include Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) with static and dynamic cornering lights, speed-sensitive headlight range control, adverse weather function, dynamic range control and 4-point daytime running lights. Ensuring you will be able to see and be seen in your Porsche.
The interior of a Macan GTS strikes a balance between sporty and luxurious, with GTS front sports seats with 8-way electric adjustment. The Black GTS partial leather/Alcantara® interior is standard, but the options to upgrade to extended leather and have Carmine Red or Crayon details can make the interior even more tailored to your individual style.
The Macan GTS has the black brushed aluminium interior trim package, which includes door sill guards in black aluminium with Macan GTS designation. A balance of leather and Alcantara® features run throughout the cabin. The seat centres, door armrests and centre console are in the softer Alcantara®, whilst the multifunction sports steering wheel is smooth-finish leather.
As standard, the Macan GTS comes with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and Porsche Vehicle Tracking System Plus (PVTS+) if you have a subscription. The technology that is carried through from the base model Macan includes ParkAssist, sport mode, Lane Departure Warning and cruise control with speed limiter.
To ensure the Macan GTS is just as practical, the luggage compartment has a capacity of approximately 500 litres, and a maximum load capacity with rear seats folded of approximately 1,500 litres. If this wasn’t enough, then the option to have a tow bar fitted it still there in the sportiest Macan option. And to make sure you can get the whole family in, it even has Isofix on the outer rear seats. What’s not to love?
