The Lovett Foundation, supported by generous donations from Porsche Centre Bristol, have supported the Empire Fighting Chance Summer Hub.
Porsche Centre Bristol, who have recently moved to a new temporary home, have contributed over £2,000 to the Empire Fighting Chance Summer Hub.
Empire Fighting Chance is a local charity who have created an alternative way of delivering support to vulnerable young people through their Boxing Gym and the programmes that they run. Their model combines non-contact boxing and intensive, psychologically informed support, delivered by someone they trust and who is fighting in their corner.
In 2023, the charity reached 9,593 young people, who have benefited from programs which are designed to equip young people with inner strengths and outer resources to build their resilience to overcome the adversity they face.
The Lovett Foundation have been thrilled to engage with Empire in their Box Careers programme which is designed to help young people develop a positive mindset and showcase career pathways during boxing sessions. Young people are then offered employment opportunities and gain support to access and make the best use of these.
The team from Empire have previously visited the Dick Lovett Bristol campus to engage with CV workshops and interview skills sessions, as well as tours of the workshops and showrooms. By partnering with Empire Fighting Chance, The Lovett Foundation can provide young people an opportunity to engage with a local business in an exciting industry, which hopefully will lead to further career opportunities either with Dick Lovett, or local businesses in Bristol.

Between 5th August – 30th August young people in the Bristol area will be able to access free one-hour sessions every weekday at the gym in Easton. Qualified coaches will be running mixed non-contact boxing sessions over the summer to provide a safe and consistent space over the school holidays.
Porsche Centre Bristol, who raised £2,000 of the funding through a Golf Day competition at Forest Hills Golf Club in July, generously decided to send the donation to Empire Fighting Chance to support the team and young people over summer.
As part of our sustainability initiatives, Porsche Centre Bristol have also been recycling furniture and artwork from their old building as they relocated. When individuals wanted to make payments for the items, the Centre Principal arranged for any funds to go to support the Summer Hub instead.
The generosity of Porsche Centre Bristol has meant that they have covered over half of the cost of the Summer Hub programme, with The Lovett Foundation contributing the rest of the funding.
