New Year’s Resolutions for Porsche Drivers

Posted on 18th December 2019

Get ready to soar into the next decade behind the wheel of your cherished Porsche. Follow our New Year resolutions to make the very most of your Porsche experience throughout 2020.

1. Take your Porsche out for a scenic country drive at least once a month

Your Porsche is at its best on long rural roads, negotiating bends and purring along the straights as you enjoy the scenery. Read our suggestions for some tempting trips (with welcoming pit-stops on route).

2. Join the Porsche Club

Joining the Porsche Club is a great way to meet like-minded Porsche owners and get involved in all kinds of enjoyable, challenging and sociable events, both locally and nationally, including track days and factory tours. You'll enjoy a host of other benefits, too – including access to technical help and advice, discounts on Porsche-branded parts, cashback on Pirelli tyres, highly competitive insurance and so much more.

3. Download the free Porsche "Good to Know" app

Available to download for Android and Apple devices, the official Porsche app is your bespoke Porsche user guide. Simply select your Porsche model to download interior and exterior images, videos, and tips to help you get familiar with your car, inside and out.

You can also search for nearby Porsche dealers via GPS, in case your car needs an emergency service. Even diehard Porsche fans could find something new in the searchable feature list.

4. Keep your Porsche showroom clean

Invest in the White Edition Car Care Kit to keep your Porsche looking as good as new. It's specifically designed for Porsche cars, and comes in a wheeled Rimowa trolley case for easy access as you move around the car.

It includes all the standard cleaning products you'd expect, plus alloy wheel cleaner, insect remover, interior glass cleaner and leather conditioner. It also contains bespoke Porsche accessories including various different sponges, chamois leather, microfibre cloths, terry towel and three-brush set.

5. Take the family for an outing to Porsche Classic Life

If you haven’t visited the Porsche Classic Life facility yet, why not book a day out with your family? You can even bring the dog. Based in an original WW2 Fire Station at Bicester Heritage, it's the only standalone Official Classic Porsche site in the UK.

Their famous Sunday Scramble events are not to be missed and are taking place in January, April and October next year. Just get in touch with our team at Porsche Centre Swindon to find out more about this family-friendly destination for true Porsche enthusiasts.

6. Treat your Porsche to an upgrade

Give your Porsche a New Year present. It could be a little treat, like a fuel cap, or a major enhancement like a sports exhaust.

You’ll find a huge range of official accessories on the Porsche Tequipment finder, and the team here at Dick Lovett Porsche will be happy to advise on pricing and fitting for your specific car.

7. Book your Porsche services and MOT early

Avoid stress and last-minute panics by booking your Porsche’s servicing and MOT appointments in good time. It means you'll get plenty of choice and can pick the day and time that suits your timetable.

8. Get a new interest: discover Formula E

Formula E is the thrilling new city street sport and the only sport in the world that lets fans influence the outcome of the race. It’s also a great way to enjoy racing with a clear conscience, as the cars run on electricity, augmented by Fan Boost for extra power.

You can make an impact by voting for your favourite driver, giving them an extra performance boost and increasing their chance of winning.

9. Book a summer road trip

Give yourself something to look forward to during dismal winter days when it seems that spring will never arrive – perhaps a trip to Le Mans in June?

If you can't wait until summer, you could follow Gary Spence's lead. A Porsche Centre Tewkesbury customer, Gary fulfilled a long-held dream to attend the Geneva Motor Show in March 2019 and decided to travel in style in his beloved Porsche 911 GT3. According to Gary, "The car was super reliable. I was a little worried about the comfort, but it was absolutely brilliant, and the ride quality was superb."

10. Book a test drive in the new Porsche Taycan

The new all-electric Taycan will be arriving in our showrooms early in 2020.

If you're itching to get behind the wheel of this ground-breaking new model, speak to the team at your local Dick Lovett Porsche Centre and make sure you're one of the first people to test drive the newest, and greenest, member of the Porsche family.
