The Porsche Taycan has hit the ground running. Over 20,000 owners have embraced Porsche’s take on the electric sports car and it has quickly become one of the nation's favourite Porsche models, second only to the Macan.
So when the newest model, the Taycan Cross Turismo, takes to the road later this year, it is bound to be a hit. With some very impressive features, the Cross Turismo all-electric Porsche has some great highlights which build on the electric side of its personality and the rugged off-roading estate side.
All-weather, all-purpose
In the digital premier, the Tacyan Cross Turismo was described as an all-rounder EV. The bad road capability with Gravel Mode is one notable highlight of the all-electric estate which can be driven on most terrain, in any weather with its special Cross Turismo wheel design.
Backed up by features such as the Off-Road Design Package, increased ground clearance and active all-wheel drive with Porsche Traction Management (PTM), this definitely gives the Taycan Cross Turismo an advantage if you are looking for something agile and practical in the electric car market.
The estate-style roofline on the Cross Turismo lends to more space than the saloon style Taycan’s. If the Variable Luggage Compartment with innovative cargo space management isn’t enough space for you, rest assured that the Cross Turismo also has built-in roof rails for when you are in need of additional storage, so that you can bring your bike, roof box, skis or surfboard along for the ride.
Electric performance off the beaten track
The Performance Battery Plus is a standard feature on the Cross Turismo models which means you will benefit from 93.4kWh and, depending on your specification, a WLTP range of up to 283 miles. The Performance Battery Plus also allows for rapid-charging from 0-80% in as little as 22 minutes when charging at a rate of up to 270kW through the 800V battery.
Explore the range
There are four models available under the umbrella of Cross Turismo. The 4 is the starting point of the range and starts from £79,340. For this, you still get an impressive 0-62mph in only 5.1 seconds and the highest anticipated range of between 242-283 miles. The power jumps from 469bhp on the Taycan 4 Cross Turismo to 563bhp on the Taycan 4S Cross Turismo. This model line up starts from £87,820, has a 4.1 second 0-62mph and a range of up to 281 miles.
The Turbo Cross Turismo models start from £116,950 which sees the 0-62mph time drop to just 3.3 seconds. The maximum mileage matches the Taycan 4S Cross Turismo, but you will have 671bhp at your disposal with the Turbo model. The most powerful and quickest Taycan Cross Turismo is the Turbo S model line which peaks at 750bhp. The extra power deducts about 20 miles from the total range, which is great considering this model has a 0-62mph of just 2.9 seconds. You can own a Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo from £139,910.
