On Friday 11th October, Dick Lovett ran a group-wide fitness challenge called "Row the Sites" to raise money for The Lovett Foundation. The event was a remarkable success, raising over £1,400 and sailing over our target of 200 miles in a day.
Sixteen teams at various dealerships were delivered a rowing machine with the goal of rowing as far as possible while having a fun day with their colleagues.
When it comes to teamwork, our dealerships can really go the distance - literally! In true Dick Lovett spirit, our teams went above and beyond, and our group target of 200 miles was blown out of the water when we achieved an astonishing 600 miles! This is the equivalent of visiting each Dick Lovett dealership in a roundtrip 3 times!
As well as having a great day as a team, we raised over £1,400 in the process, all in support of the Lovett Foundation’s fantastic work with care leavers in Wiltshire.
The competition was fierce, with each dealership pulling together to make their mark, and the top contenders for most miles rowed were only metres apart! It was Team Aston Martin Bristol who took home the accolade of “Most Miles Rowed” by really proving their endurance on the day.
Meanwhile, the showrooms in Melksham and the Hangar in Bristol must receive a special mention for the best decorations, bringing a splash of creativity and fun to the event. It wasn’t just about the miles; it was about the camaraderie and some seriously impressive team spirit!
All in all, the day was a huge success, and thanks to everyone’s hard work, we’ve made a real difference for young people leaving care in Wiltshire.
The fitness challenge has provided an opportunity to raise awareness and funds for the programmes that The Lovett Foundation are supporting. The Wiltshire Community Foundation Care Leavers programme is essential in providing young people leaving the care system with the support they need to transition into adulthood, helping them with education, employment, and life skills.
The funds raised during "Row the Sites" will directly impact the lives of these care leavers, offering them the chance to receive much-needed guidance and resources. The Lovett Foundation, through its partnership with the Wiltshire Community Foundation, continues to make a real difference in the local community, and events like these are vital in ensuring the continued support for vulnerable young people.
We hope all of our teams enjoyed the "Row the Sites" challenge and we hope to continue to provide exciting fundraising events that can make a meaningful difference.
