At Dick Lovett, we want to recruit and retain the best team members who will deliver a first-class service for our customers. For this reason, we have a clear progression path for our employees, and are always delighted when we can promote our home-grown talent and reward excellence!
At BMW Bristol, we have achieved significant progressions for five of our team members who have worked incredibly hard on their personal development to grow with us! These milestones for our team members demonstrate the progression routes you can take at Dick Lovett through hard work and commitment.
Our Reception and Hosting teams are at the heart of each business, and all share the same vision of delivering an outstanding customer experience that Dick Lovett can feel proud of. Our BMW and MINI Group Reception Manager, Marianne, has been actively coaching various reception teams across the Group, with an aim to implement a Dick Lovett feel across all our dealerships regardless of the brand. As a result of the growing responsibility Marianne has taken on in her role, BMW Bristol have made internal promotions to recognise the hard work of three team members.
After joining in 2014, and becoming the Senior Receptionist in 2019, Lauren will now become the Reception Supervisor at BMW and MINI Bristol. In her time with us, Lauren has trained Reception team members in Dick Lovett Bath and enjoyed building a rapport with our lovely customers to make their experience personable.
Lauren is delighted to be celebrating her tenth year with the company and loves the established team she works with. The Reception team work hard to train the new starters and Lauren finds it so rewarding to see them progress within their roles. In her new position, Lauren is enthusiastic for the new challenges and looking forward to providing help and support to the team. Dick Lovett is well known for achieving high standards and Lauren is excited to be a part of contributing to the continued success of the team.
I like that each day is different. I enjoy getting to know our customers and giving them the best customer experience I possibly can.
As Lauren takes a step into the Supervisor role, our current Supervisor, Sheryl, will be promoted to the role of Showroom Manager and will oversee the Bristol, Swindon, and Melksham Reception teams.
After working at Dick Lovett for 11 years, initially as a Receptionist, then a Senior, and most recently a Supervisor, Sheryl is ready to take on her new role as the Showroom Manager. With each role, Sheryl has been able to take on more responsibility and help manage the Reception team whilst still being involved with daily reception life. As her new role will cover more sites, Sheryl is most excited about getting to know fellow Reception teams across the Group and offer more support. The best part of the role for Sheryl is being able to work alongside such a supportive team who take pride in making sure they do everything to the best of their ability.
I personally love being able to help people and create a memorable experience from the beginning. It's the little details that count for me.
As Marianne’s role has grown and developed, she will now be looking after six Reception teams across a range of premium brands including Porsche and Jaguar Land Rover. Marianne has followed a similar path to Sheryl and Lauren over her 11 years at Dick Lovett and enjoys the variety her new role will give her with the opportunity to work with different teams every day.
The way this job has grown gives Marianne a great opportunity to continue her own development, as well as providing support to our Porsche Centres. Marianne is looking forward to getting to know the Porsche brand in more detail and spending time with the teams. With our state-of-the-art Porsche Centre opening in Newport in May, she is also very excited to support the Cardiff team with this move.
I certainly feel really proud of our team - seeing what they achieve everyday gives me a huge sense of job satisfaction.
The Reception team are a fantastic testimony to the progression opportunities in the car industry, and we are also excited to detail two further promotions, one of which also originated from our Reception team!
Due to our BMW Bristol Sales Manager Ben moving to MINI Swindon as a Sales Manager, we were presented with a great opportunity for two of our very own stars within the team to be promoted. Emily who will now be our Sales Manager, and Molly who will now be our Retail Manager, have both been actively working towards these opportunities and proving themselves to the business by not only performing highly within their respective roles, but also continually learning additional skills along the way.
Molly has been with Dick Lovett for 6 years and started out as one of our Reception team. Since joining us, Molly has broadened her experience of customers by working as a Digital Sales Executive, Retention Executive, and then a Sales Executive. All of these roles have contributed to Molly gaining an in-depth understanding of Sales and delivering a fantastic customer experience. Taking this experience with her into her new role as a Retail Manager, Molly is excited to coach her team and help them develop and become the best they can be.
Every day is a different challenge, and I enjoy the opportunity to develop my career.
Emily joined the Dick Lovett team as a Sales Executive in 2018, then progressed to a Retail Manager, and will now become the New Car Sales Manager at BMW Bristol with the internal moves. For Emily, this opportunity is a brilliant chance to help and develop an already fantastic team. The team at BMW Bristol is made up of 28 people, including 4 Retail Managers, 12 Sales Executives, 3 Sales Trainees and 2 Site Controllers. Emily’s role will oversee the New Car function and she will work with the whole team to ensure we are delivering the best results for our customers and the business. Working in this tight-knit team, in our biggest BMW dealership, Emily is excited to start a new challenge and the opportunity to grow and learn.
These accomplishments stand as testament to the determination of our team members, as well as the unwavering support of our valued Managers. As we continue to strive for excellence, we are excited to share these achievements of the team members who have been going above and beyond in their day-to-day roles to support the business.
The automotive sector is an exciting industry to work in as there are always exciting new models coming to market, and at Dick Lovett, we are continuously working to ensure we are providing the best facilities to house the iconic brands we represent.
At our Bristol campus, we are completing a brand-new building which will house the BMW Bristol team in the near future, while we complete a renovation of the BMW dealership. Dick Lovett hopes to demonstrate our commitment to providing the best facilities for our teams to work in, and therefore provide an exceptional service to our customers.
Our mission of “customer satisfaction through staff satisfaction” shows through in our projects, reflecting our ongoing commitment to providing an excellent landscape for our teams to grow and flourish.
