New charity partnership in Swindon for the Lovett Foundation

Dick Lovett, on behalf of the Lovett Foundation, are pleased to announce that we will be partnering with the Wiltshire Community Foundation to support young people in and leaving care in Swindon and Wiltshire.

The Wiltshire Community Foundation connects charities and local businesses to maximise fundraising opportunities for opportunities for vital charitable activity. Through connecting companies and charities who have the same values, the Foundation can pool resources to support larger-scale campaigns which will deliver a bigger impact on the community.

The Lovett Foundation will be contributing to the Care Leavers Programme which is a national campaign managed by UK Community Foundations. Over the next five years, The Lovett Foundation will be donating £100,000 towards the project.

Young people often experience a gap in support when leaving the care system, which is why The Lovett Foundation identified the need to offer support and funding to contribute towards giving these young people a brighter future.

Aside from donations, The Lovett Foundation also offers support for vulnerable young people with their CV skills, interview techniques, and with functional workshops

The Care Leavers Programme for Wiltshire and Swindon will focus on three key areas; mentoring, educational and vocational bursaries, and experiences that will support their personal development. Through the support and funding, the Programme hopes to tackle challenges that Care Leavers face, such as the increased risk of homelessness.

Set up in 2019, The Lovett Foundation supports children in care and young adults leaving care across the South West and Wales, giving them assistance, life skills, and experiences which will contribute to a brighter future.

The Lovett Foundation are delighted to start the partnership with Wiltshire Community Foundation. It will help direct the money that we raise through fundraising activities at Dick Lovett to the correct places, such as helping to support young people leaving the care system.

Oliver Selfe, Philanthropy Director at the Wiltshire Community Foundation, said: “This is an outstanding commitment from Dick Lovett to agree to help fund the project for five years and will mean that the programme can have a greater and more sustained impact. We are extremely grateful for their generosity.”
