Founded in 2019 by a cohort of managers at Dick Lovett, The Lovett Foundation has a mission to support children in care and young adults transitioning from care. As we are celebrating our significant milestone, it's a good time to reflect on our journey and our achievements.
The Lovett Foundation is more than just a charitable cause; it's a symbol of community spirit. At Dick Lovett, we have hosted group-wide events to support the cause and never fail to see the amazing commitment and compassion from our teams.
- What is the Lovett Foundation
Our commitment to supporting children in care and aiding young adults as they embark on their independent journeys stems from a deep-rooted belief in the transformative power of assistance, life skills, and experiences. From delivering essential items and food to organising life-enriching experiences, our efforts have made a tangible difference in the lives of local individuals.
Over the past five years, we have been lucky enough to collaborate with some fantastic partners. We recognise that by working together with local councils and charities who support care leavers and children in care, we can maximise our impact and reach those who need our help the most. Through these invaluable partnerships, we gain insights into the specific needs of our communities, allowing us to tailor our support accordingly.
We've collaborated with Empire Fighting Chance and 16-25 Independent People, to run CV workshops aimed at equipping young adults with essential skills for the jobs market. These workshops have provided invaluable guidance and support, helping participants towards a brighter future.
One of the highlights of our journey has been the events we've organised to engage with everyone in our business and raise awareness for our cause. From our "Cycle the Sites" event, where participants engaged in some friendly competition at their dealerships while fundraising for the Foundation, to a thrilling group-wide football tournament that brought together teams from across the area, we've fostered a sense of camaraderie and unity while supporting a worthy cause.
In addition, we've indulged in the sweetness of giving back through two successful Valentine’s Day themed bake sales, where delicious treats served as an opportunity to give something back, and a treat for our teams!
As we celebrate our fifth anniversary, we extend our deepest gratitude to all those who have supported us along the way. Whether through donations, volunteer work, or advocacy, your contributions have been instrumental in our success. Together, we have demonstrated the incredible impact that collective action can have on building brighter futures for vulnerable individuals.
Looking to the future, The Lovett Foundation remains committed to making a positive difference in the lives of children in care and young adults leaving care. With your continued support, we are confident that we can empower even more individuals, offering them the tools and opportunities they need to thrive.
As we embark on the next chapter of our journey, we invite you to join us in spreading hope, kindness, and compassion. Together, we can create a world where every child and young adult has the chance to realise their full potential and lead fulfilling lives. Thank you for being a part of our story, and here's to many more years of making a difference, one life at a time.
