Exciting times are ahead for MINI fans. The latest iteration of the highly prized MINI Sidewalk edition is just around the corner and we at Dick Lovett MINI can't wait to see it.
Just like its predecessor, the new MINI Convertible Sidewalk edition is available on Cooper and Cooper S, will deliver a unique open-top driving experience.
First seen on our roads in 2007, the MINI Sidewalk immediately became the coolest convertible in town thanks to its irresistible combination of MINI’s typical go-kart feeling and exclusive flair.
This MINI limited edition head-turner boasted a deluxe specification, including a choice of four paintwork colours, Malt Brown English Leather upholstery, 17” Night Spoke light alloy wheels, a bi-colour leather steering wheel and gear knob, plus special ‘Sidewalk’ interior trim, floor mats, badges and door inserts.
The MINI Sidewalk edition also featured an array of performance and style enhancers as standard. Including Automatic Stability Control and Traction, a multifunction leather steering wheel, sports seats and an onboard computer – to name just a few.
Meet its show-stopping successor
The upcoming MINI Convertible Sidewalk will also be highly finished, with bespoke exterior and interior design features.
Available in a new Deep Laguna blue, it is adorned with bespoke two-tone racing stripes down its bonnet and colour-coded wing mirror caps, emphasising its sporty credentials and making it instantly recognisable.
If blue isn't your colour, you can also opt for exterior paintwork in Midnight Black metallic, White Silver metallic, Enigmatic Black metallic, Moonwalk Grey metallic or Thunder Grey metallic – all available on request.
The folding fabric roof has been redesigned specifically for the Sidewalk edition, now featuring a woven arrow pattern in the style of a chequered flag. It can be opened and closed electrically and almost silently in just 18 seconds. The 17-inch light-alloy Scissor Spoke 2-tone wheels and unique side scuttles and aluminium tread plates bearing the "Sidewalk" model designation also contribute to this model’s unmistakable appearance.
The seats are trimmed in grey leather surrounded by contrasting yellow braided piping, with additional bespoke features including subtle Sidewalk badging and contrasting trim elements.
The Sidewalk is equipped as standard with the Chili package. Available as an option on the regular Cooper, this includes LED headlights and foglights, an interior lighting package, automatic air conditioning, a height-adjustable passenger seat and additional storage areas.
Open air fun guaranteed
The open air driving fun quota is exceptionally high on the MINI Convertible Sidewalk Edition.
It brings you MINI TwinPower Turbo technology, a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch as standard. The new MINI Cooper S Convertible Sidewalk can also be equipped with a 7-speed Steptronic Sport transmission for even faster gear shifts using paddles on the steering wheel.
The new MINI Cooper Convertible Sidewalk is powered by a 1.5 litre 3-cylinder engine which produces 136 hp of power. If you want an even sportier fresh air experience, try the MINI Cooper S version with its 192 hp 4-cylinder engine.
