Chalk and cheese. Or for MINI fans - the MINI E and the MINI GP. You couldn’t get two more different cars. One built for economy and being nice to trees, the other for raw power and, frankly, scaring your granny.
However, one is also only a concept while the other is very much a reality. And that reality is the all-electric MINI E which will be silently slipping off the production line, emitting zero emissions in its wake, next year.

Dick Lovett MINI Are Taking Enquiries For The All-Electric MINI E
Dick Lovett MINI in Bristol, Bath, Swindon and Hungerford (Near Newbury and Andover) are already taking enquiries from keen green MINI drivers who want to make sure they’re the first in the line for this incredible new car.
And for true MINI fans it's promising to be a thrilling guilt-free, eco-friendly drive.
MINI E To Have “Go kart feeling to another level”
Brand boss Sebastian Mackensen has already told motoring journalists: “We always talk about the go-kart feeling and the electric MINI will probably bring that to another level. With the torque and responsiveness, combined with the local centre of weight, it will stick to the ground even more [than existing models].”

MINI E Technology Based On The BMW i3
Based on the MINI 3-door Hatch, the MINI E will have a flat front grille and distinctive four-spoke wheels. The range has yet to be confirmed but given that it’s likely to be based on the BMW i3 engine, it’s going to be around 186 miles.
MINI first ventured into the electric field about 10 years ago at a time when batteries were enormous and they had to lose the entire rear seat to fit enough in. Unsurprisingly, it didn’t catch on.
MINI Countryman S E Hybrid Proving Electric Capabilities
More recently, there’s been the introduction of a plug-in hybrid MINI Countryman which combines a 1.5 litres engine with an electric motor. That has an electric-only range of up to 26 miles.
The MINI E will be a whole new beast. And also promises to have the full seat quota, too.

MINI John Cooper Works GP Concept: A Track-Focused Racer
Talking of beasts. Meet the MINI John Cooper Works GP Concept. It’s only a concept at this stage but if you’re a petrol head come hell or high water you’ll be hoping beyond hope that MINI puts this MINI beast into production.
UK Debut At 2018 Goodwood Festival Of Speed
It made its debut at the recent Goodwood Festival of Speed alongside the MINI E and takes the very essence of what makes a John Cooper Works MINI and then pumped it full of Irn-Bru, Lucozade and a whole tub of Haribos.
It’s very much a track-focused racer and pushes boundaries others wouldn’t even dare to approach. The MINI John Cooper Works GP Concept, to give it the full title, has a stripped down interior, growling front grille, 19” alloys and a prominent roof spoiler.

Be The First To Hear About The MINI John Cooper Works GP Concept
There’s also carbon fibre, side skirts and front and rear aprons just in case you weren't entirely sure this was a true JCW car. It’s not yet known if the MINI GP will go into production, but we can at least keep our fingers and toes crossed that it does.
