Are you struggling to decide whether the MINI Aceman or the All-Electric MINI Countryman would be the right fit for you? Although both are 5-doors and all-electric, there are many differences between these two models. So, let’s take a look.
With first deliveries arriving from the end of November 2024, the Aceman will be the newest addition to MINI’s electric range. It sits comfortably between the All-Electric MINI Cooper and the All-Electric MINI Countryman, filling the void left by the discontinuation of the Clubman.
Starting at £31,800, the MINI Aceman costs less than the All-Electric MINI Countryman which starts at £42,080. Therefore, if affordability is high on your list of priorities when you’re looking to make your first jump to an all-electric vehicle, the Aceman could potentially be the perfect choice.
The MINI Aceman shares the same 53.5kWh battery as the All-Electric MINI Cooper, whereas the MINI Countryman has a larger 64.6 kWh battery.
With a fully charged battery, both vehicles provide a range to meet your travel aspirations, wherever your journey might take you. The Aceman can travel up to 192 miles* on a single charge and the Countryman up to 287 miles*, and both take no more than 31 minutes to recharge from 10-80% at a public DC charging station. This means that long road trips or staycations can be comfortably done in either model.
All-Electric MINI Countryman
Looking at acceleration, the Aceman reaches 0-62 mph in 7.9 seconds compared to the Countryman’s 8.6 seconds. However, if you were to upgrade to the Aceman SE, the acceleration improves to 7.1 seconds. But, if you’re looking for more sprightly acceleration from your EV, then the Countryman SE is the model to go for, as it sprints from 0-62mph in just 5.6 seconds!
Comparing the standard ‘E’ models, the Aceman has a top speed of 99mph and a power output of 184hp, and the Countryman delivers 105mph and 204hp.
At first glance, you will notice the difference in dimensions between the two models. Although a significant step up in size from the classic Cooper, the Aceman is 12.1cm shorter in height, 36.6cm shorter in length, and 7.8cm shorter in diameter than the bigger Countryman.
The Aceman sports a contemporary new look, featuring an octagonal grille, angular rear lights, geometric wheel arches, and a dark spoiler – just to mention a few. While the Countryman shares the octagonal grille, its power dome bonnet, striking headlights, and roof rails give it its bold stance. Don’t forget, this model also has a grey-shaded glass sunroof to enjoy on your adventures.
MINI Aceman
Both models share a very similar wheelbase, with the Aceman just 6.4cm shorter than the Countryman. The broad wheelbase of both cars has allowed for the interior design to be spacious, maximising practicality.
While both models have the familiar Core, Go Kart, and Green modes, the driving experience varies dramatically from behind the wheel.
From the driver’s seat of the Countryman, you will feel confident tackling more adventurous routes and rough terrains in comfort thanks to its All4 all-wheel drive system. With its long range on a single charge, this SUV offers great flexibility. Its spacious interior means you can carry 5 passengers and store up to 460 litres of luggage. For trips carrying two travellers, a maximum capacity of 1,450 litres is available with both back seats down.
The MINI Aceman has slightly less capacity due to its more compact build, with space for 300-1,005 litres of storage. However, this means it retains the classic ‘go-kart’ MINI feeling with its responsive steering. With Parking Assistant fitted as standard, manoeuvring has never been easier, and its nimble size is certainly on its side.
Interior Comparison
Both style a new 2D knitted material across the cabin made from renewable and recycled materials, which not only gives a feeling of luxury but importantly is comfortable and easy to clean.
Across the sleek interior design of the Aceman, you will be drawn to the all-new circular OLED display, where you will easily find all of your onboard infotainment and driving assistant features. With the option of up to 8 different ‘modes’ in the Countryman, you can have your lighting, soundscape, and cockpit display adjusted specifically to the feeling you desire.
