About the Range Rover Evoque

Approved Used Range Rover Evoque Image 1

For car buyers who want a compact and stylish SUV from a prestigious brand, a used approved Range Rover Evoque ticks a lot of boxes. It’s the entry level model in the Land Rover line-up and has become one of its best sellers since launch.

The first generation of the Range Rover Evoque was introduced in 2011, with a choice of three or five door, and two-wheel or four-wheel drive models available. The Range Rover Evoque Convertible arrived in 2016, becoming the first open-top compact SUV; though it was discontinued in 2019, it’s a rare find on the used market but still available.

The second generation launched in 2018, bringing with it a number of enhancements and improvements, including increased space for passengers in the rear. Additional engines were also available, including the P300e, a plug-in hybrid version.

You’ll discover an excellent range of Approved Used Range Rover Evoque models for sale at Dick Lovett Land Rover. Find the latest available models here or head to our Land Rover dealership in Melksham, near Bath.

Why buy a used Range Rover Evoque?

The Evoque has been a stunning success for Range Rover since its arrival in the market as a premium compact SUV. Would there be enough demand for the smallest SUV in the Range Rover line-up? The answer to that has been a resounding yes.

While its dimensions are smaller than family members such as the Range Rover Velar, Range Rover Sport and Land Rover Discovery, the Evoque doesn’t lag in terms of power and performance. You obviously don’t get rapid sports car acceleration but what you do get is quiet and refined driving; smooth around town and an effortless motorway cruiser. Comfort takes precedence when on the road.

That’s not to say an Approved Used Range Rover Evoque can’t be quick – the PHEV model is capable of 0-60mph in just 6.1 seconds.

Like many models in the Land Rover Approved Used range, the Evoque promises luxury motoring – and it definitely delivers on its promise. There are smart design elements, especially on second-generation Evoque models, which have taken inspiration from the Velar. Retracting door handles, updated exterior styling, enhanced safety features, and Land Rover’s new Pivi Pro infotainment system (in models post 2021) are all included.

Pivi Pro has a 10-inch touchscreen, built-in sat nav (as standard on models above the entry level and R-Dynamic trim), DAB radio, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

Standard eight-way adjustable seats mean driver and passenger can set their perfect position – memory function is available on selected trims – and newer models have increased space in the rear because of a longer wheelbase. Leather seats are standard in selected models, USB sockets are available, and climate control can also be operated in the rear of the vehicle. There’s just a general feeling of class and sophistication.

*Key features of an Approved Used Range Rover Evoque could include:

  • LED headlights
  • Cruise control
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • Front and rear parking sensors
  • Reversing camera
  • 8-way heated front seats
  • Leather steering wheel
  • Ambient interior lighting
  • Panoramic roof
  • Voice control system
  • Keyless entry
  • Pivi Pro infotainment system

Any SUV has to provide practicality too, and although the Evoque is a compact model, it has ample storage and loadspace. The boot capacity is 472 litres – that’s with the rear seats in place – and this increases to 1,156 litres when those seats are folded down.

The Evoque was given a five-star safety rating from NCAP, and boasts an extensive selection of safety features as standard – including front and rear parking sensors, six airbags, lane keep assist, and more.

Tips and advice for buying a used Range Rover Evoque

If you want a choice of engine types when choosing a used Land Rover, good news – the Evoque range has three petrol engines, two diesel engines, and that spectacular PHEV model.

Performance varies across these engines so our best advice is to consider each when viewing potential Approved Used Range Rover Evoques. All come with nine-speed automatic transmission, and front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive models are available.

First, the entry level models, which will typically be priced a little lower than like-for-like other versions of the same production year and generation. The D165 is the entry-level diesel model, capable of 161hp and a 0-62mph time of 10.1 seconds; this is also offered as a front-wheel drive and a six-speed manual gearbox.

The petrol equivalent is the P200. Like the D165 it’s also a 2.0-litre turbo engine but it’s more powerful, at 197hp and with faster 0-62mph acceleration of 8.6 seconds.

Moving up the range, the second diesel – D200 – delivers 201hp and 0-62mph in 8.5 seconds while the P250 powers up to 246bhp and hits 0-62mph in 7.6 seconds. Topping the petrol range is the P300, which can reach 300hp and 0-62mph in 6.5 seconds. Maximum top speed is 150mph.

So, what of the P300e? In many ways, it’s the most impressive version of the used Range Rover Evoque line-up. It features a 1.5-litre petrol engine that delivers 197hp with an 80kW electric motor that is capable of 107hp – combined, that’s a hefty 305hp. It’s quick, too, hitting 0-62mph in 6.4 seconds, making it fractionally faster than the P300, though top speed is 132mph.

Switch to pure electric power, and the P300e can happily power away up to 84mph, with an all-electric range of up to 39 miles.

In addition to engine choice, the Evoque comes in five different spec levels, each offering varying equipment levels. The Evoque is the base model, followed by the Evoque S, R-Dynamic, Edition, and the range-topping Autobiography. The higher the trim, the more you should expect to pay, especially with the Autobiography, which is only available with the P250, D200, and P300e engines. On higher spec models you’ll have enhanced features such as that upgraded Pivi Pro infotainment system.
