With a Land Rover Electric Hybrid model, there’s no compromise on performance – just more efficient, environmentally friendly driving. The cars in this range all offer plug-in electric hybrid (PHEV) motoring, putting you – the driver – in complete control when it comes to choice.

A PHEV car has a petrol engine and an electric motor, so you can switch between the two according to the demands of your journey. Use the engine for longer trips, and switch to pure electric mode for shorter commutes and daily driving.

Across the Land Rover electric hybrid series, models have an electric driving range of between 32 miles (Land Rover Defender) and 75 miles (Range Rover) so it’s completely possible to handle the school run, drive to the office and back, and short drives close to home without using the engine at all. Which means using zero fuel – with the bonus of zero tailpipe emissions, too.

Charging back to full power is quick and convenient, especially if you use a rapid DC charging facility, which can achieve 80% charge in 30 minutes or less. That’s quicker than it takes to eat lunch out or do the weekly grocery shop. With so many public charging points now available, you can charge your car’s battery while you go about your business – and it’s ready to go again when you are. Or simply plug it in when you get home at the end of the day, and it’ll be fully charged and ready to go again in the morning.

Of course, there’s no need to be concerned about the battery running out of juice – with a Land Rover PHEV, you always have the back-up of the engine, if you need it.

So, what of that famous Range Rover performance? It varies by model, but some examples – the Range Rover Velar R-Dynamic S P400e delivers 404hp, a top speed of 130mph and 0-62mph acceleration in just 5.1 seconds. The Range Rover Evoque Autobiography P300e delivers 309hp, a top speed of 132mph, and 0-62 acceleration of 6.1 seconds.

Range Rover Electric Hybrid

This classic Range Rover delivers refinement and luxury, with the ability to seat up to seven people in comfort in the long-wheelbase model. Fitted with a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder petrol engine, when in all-electric mode it has a range of up to 75 miles. Using rapid DC charging, the battery can be recharged to 80% of full capacity in 60 minutes or less.

Range Rover Sport Electric Hybrid

The latest Range Rover Sport is available in SE, Dynamic SE, and Autobiography trim.

All-electric driving range is up to 75 miles – like the Range Rover PHEV. The Sport can deliver engine power of 404hp, 0-62mph acceleration in 5.9 seconds, and a top speed of up to 137mph.

Range Rover Velar Electric Hybrid

The electric hybrid version of the elegant Velar has a certified all-electric range of 40 miles and rapid DC charging function, which makes it fast to charge the battery back up to full power. There are four model trims in the range: Autobiography, Dynamic HSE, Dynamic SE and S.

Range Rover Evoque Electric Hybrid

The agile Evoque is the smallest SUV in the Range Rover line-up. Like its sibling, the Velar, it’s available in the same four model trims – Autobiography, Dynamic HSE, Dynamic SE and S – and has a very similar EV range, at up to 39 miles.

Land Rover Discovery Sport

The Discovery Sport will have you ready for any adventure. This versatile and practical SUV has an-electric range of 37 miles, and can charge from 0 to 80% in around 30 minutes. Choose from three trims: Dynamic HSE, Dynamic SE and S.

Land Rover Defender

Tough and rugged, the Defender can cope with just about everything. That includes driving on pure electric power, with a range of up to 32 miles. With a 104PS electric motor combined with a 300PS four-cylinder petrol engine, the Defender doesn’t shirk any challenge.
