As an MOT tester, we would provide brand-related training to keep you up to date with the latest technologies, vehicle designs, and brand-specific testing procedures. Responsibilities of an MOT Tester
When your role is to inspect vehicles to ensure they meet the legal requirements for road safety and environmental standards, you need to have great attention to detail, and a level of care for the customer. While you will be checking brakes, tyres, lights, emissions, and various other critical components, you will also be giving advice on the safety of the vehicle and therefore the welfare of the customer. We have a strict focus on adherence to MOT guidelines, so need diligent MOT Testers who can be thorough every time.
Customer Service
In our workshops, we value transparency. We have customer viewing areas for MOTs as a legal requirement, but you will also have to carry out a Vehicle Health Check and may meet customers face-to-face. We look for team members who are comfortable and confident when talking to customers to reassure them about their vehicles and give them sound and fair advice.
In addition to technical duties, you'll engage with customers, explaining the results of the MOT test and advising on any necessary repairs or maintenance. Working for a brand means that customer service is often as important as technical ability.
