The Defender has long been a staple model within the Land Rover family.
For many years, the Land Rover Defender has been the perfect vehicle for exploring the great outdoors or getting around the urban jungles of today. However, with so many models and specifications available, the question you may be asking yourself is, “which Defender is the right one for me?”
That’s why, here at Dick Lovett, we want to talk you through the impressive range of current Defender models available, whilst outlining all the key features that will help you to decide on the perfect model just for you.
There is no better place to start than one of the UK’s most popular Land Rover’s; the Defender 90. As we know, the Defender is one of the strongest and most capable vehicles ever created and the Defender 90 is no exception.
Also available as a V8 with 525 PS, the Defender 90 has exceptional all wheel drive capability and is as comfortable to drive on the road as it is off. The 3-Door Defender 90 does not shy away from luxury though, as this model is fitted with 3D surround cameras, 360° parking aid and a massive 11.4” Touchscreen with Pivi Pro to name just a few of the options included.
It is now time to introduce you to the next member of the family, the Defender 110. If the larger 5-seater sibling is still not big enough, not to worry, as there is space for up to 7 people with an additional third row seating option, making the 110 the most adaptable Defender to date.
However, it is important to bear in mind that the size does not hinder its performance, as Land Rover has now introduced the brand new 525 PS V8 model.
But that’s not all, the Defender 110 is now also available as a Plug-in Hybrid that combines a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with a 105kW electric motor. Not to forget to mention that with these powerful engine options the Defender 110 has a towing capacity of 3,500kg!
But wait there’s more! As you may have heard, Land Rover has recently celebrated their 75th year anniversary of the Defender lineage.
And in true Defender spirit, Land Rover are celebrating this prestigious achievement with the release of two limited edition vehicles, available in both the 90 and 110 model. With an exclusive ‘Grasmere Green’ exterior, 20” alloy wheels and other styling features unique to the Limited Edition, this is not one to be missed. See here for more information.
Last but certainly not least, the Defender 130. If the 90 and 110 were not big enough, this next model will certainly do the trick. The largest model within the Defender family, this 8 seater is an impressive 340mm longer than its smaller sibling the 110. You might expect a vehicle with this stature to be difficult to drive?
This couldn’t be further from the truth, as useful technology such as Traffic Sign Recognition, Adaptive Speed Limiter and Driver Condition Monitor technology help to make each journey as safe and effortless as possible. The luxury does not end there, as the 130s’ Electronic Air Suspension with Adaptive Dynamics provides for a seamless drive whilst passengers can enjoy all surroundings with the standard panoramic sunroof.
It doesn’t stop there. Once confirming the Defender of your dreams, it's time to choose the accessory pack that caters to all of your needs. Whether you are an adventurous outdoor explorer or wanting to turn heads whilst driving through the urban city, there is a pack for you.
