Many believe that a plug-in hybrid vehicle will reduce costs even without being plugged in, but this is not the case. Since electricity is significantly cheaper than petrol, you will achieve the greatest savings by utilising the electric capabilities of your car as frequently as possible. This is especially true if you charge your Land Rover or Range Rover with a dedicated EV tariff, which an Andersen Charge Point makes simple.

Using the engine to charge the battery consumes petrol, so installing a dedicated home charging point is crucial for maximising your savings. With the range provided by a modern plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), it is possible to travel at least half of your annual mileage using electric-only power!

The table below shows the savings achievable with Land Rover and Range Rover plug-in hybrid vehicles compared to the petrol costs of equivalent cars. With savings of over £1,800 per year, investing in an Andersen home charging point quickly pays off.

Which Andersen charge point should I get?

When deciding between Andersen EV Charge Points, you have two models to consider: the Andersen A2 and the Andersen A3.

In the UK, most residential homes have a single-phase electrical supply making the A3 model, starting at £995, an ideal choice. The A3 model provides 247 colour and finish combinations, including options like metal, wood, and special edition facias. It supports 7kW charging and features floor lighting. Additionally, it comes with a concealed 5.5-metre charging cable.

For homes equipped with a three-phase supply (though single-phase supply is also compatible), the A2 model, starting at £1,199, provides rapid 22kW charging capability. The A2 is the larger charger of the two models but still offers a wide selection of colour and finish combinations, 243 to be exact. With the A2, you can choose between charging cables of 5.5m, 8.5m (for 7kW), or 6.5m (for 22kW) in length.

Both models include a standard 7-year warranty, ensuring peace of mind, and are compatible with solar power for environmentally friendly charging. A dedicated app allows you to monitor the cost of each charge, enabling efficient tracking, management, and scheduling of your charging sessions for optimal savings.

Once you’ve decided which charger to get, contact Dick Lovett Land Rover in Melksham. By allowing us to refer you to Andersen, you will get £200 off premium installation, which is normally £595 + VAT*. Making it the same price as standard installation.
