The Jaguar XJ is to the luxury car marker as Chanel No 5 is to perfume. It's stood the test of time, it's as relevant today as it was when it was first launched and it still represents everything a luxury brand should be.
At Dick Lovett Jaguar in Melksham we know the Jaguar XJ may not have been around as long as Chanel No 5 - the latter was launched in 1921, while the Jaguar XJ debuted in 1968 - but it's still a force to be reckoned with in the premium luxury saloon market.
It may be big, but it still manages to look refined and sleek. It's got a new chassis and steering and the 3.0-litres V6 turbocharged diesel engine will comfortably take you from 0-60mph in just 5.9 seconds. Top speed is 155mph yet it remains fuel efficient too, with a combined mph figure of 40.4mpg.
The Jaguar XJ performance
The Jaguar XJ is rear-wheel drive which makes it agile and responsive through the tightest of bends, and you even get a choice between standard and long-wheel base versions. The Jaguar XJ L is 125mm longer than the standard model.
Inside there's plenty of space and host of luxurious features, from leather 14-way heated seats, a four-zone climate control, keyless entry and soft door close. Upgrade your model and you can also choose massaging front seats, a digital television and Meridian sound system.
The Jaguar XJ Digital Display
The conventional dashboard has gone, too, replaced with a high-resolution digital display - this is a thoroughly modern new Jaguar. It's also highly capable without compromising on performance or practicality.
