Few cars have the heritage and provenance of the Ferrari Dino 246 GT which Dick Lovett Ferrari is proud to have acquired at its premier dealership just off the M4 near Swindon.
Just three previous Italian owners and a restoration history which reads like a who’s who in the world of Ferrari.
This is no ordinary Ferrari Dino 246 GT.
First registered in 1972, this beautiful classic has under 50,000 miles on the clock, a 2.4 litres petrol engine and manual transmission.
Although the car was complete when the last owner bought it, a significant amount of work needed to be done and he spent two years, painstakingly restoring it using only the very best craftsmen Italy had to offer.
The body work was completed by Giuliano Polacchini in Camposanto near Modena. He is the brother of Enzo Ferrari’s personal secretary.
The engine was rebuilt by specialist luxury car restorer Sauro in Bologna, while the gearbox was built by Giancarlo Pantieri in Modena, an ex F1 technician and regarded as the number one choice for Ferrari gearboxes.
The suspension, steering and brakes were restored by the highly regarded Carlo Bonini in Reggio Emilia, while the electrical and wiring work was carried out by Dario Gozzi who works for Ferrari Classiche.
The interior was left in the capable hands of renowned trimmers Luppi, while highly acclaimed Egidio Brandoli completed the chrome work and final assembly.
The quality of the work speaks for itself. The restoration took two years to complete but that was some 12 years ago. It still looks as though it was just finished yesterday.
And the best bit? Money can buy you this amazing piece of Italian supercar history. The Ferrari Dino 246 GT is available for £360,000.
