Apprentice Service Advisor
What we expect from our team members
The values we look for in our Service team members are:
If you are looking for a role where you can interact with customers everyday and work in a dynamic team to ensure you deliver a first-class experience, joining the Service team would be a good career path for you.
There is room for progression in the Service Department, after developing your skills and working independently, you can become a Service Advisor, Senior Service Advisor and even go on to becoming the Service Manager!
If you are passionate about working with people, an Apprenticeship in Customer Service in the Automotive industry would be a fantastic place to develop your skills.
As an Apprentice Service Advisor, you work towards gaining your NVQ Level 3 Qualification over the course of two years. As well as completing off-site college courses, you will work on-site at one of our dealerships with the Service team to learn first-hand how to become a Service Advisor.
Working in one of our dealerships, you will learn from our talented Service Teams to ensure that our customers receive first-class customer service, and will continue to do so long into the future.
If you are a people person, who likes problem solving to deliver a great service, this Apprenticeship could be for you.
If you already have some experience of working in a fast-paced, customer-facing role, then joining the Automotive Industry as a Trainee Service Advisor would be a great way to build on your existing skills.
Alongside your experience of face-to-face interactions with customers, a passion for cars would also be advantageous in this role. This helps our team to empathise with customers when they are with us for repairs, servicing, or for an MOT on their car.
As a Trainee, you would learn how to work as a team to meet all of our customers’ needs, which involves working collaboratively with the Parts, Workshop, and Sales teams. We would also support you while you learn the ins-and-outs of the Aftersales Department including the various systems we use.
This role is a fantastic opportunity to build on your communication skills, develop an understanding of the automotive industry, and grow with us.
In this customer-facing role, Service Advisors act as a liaison between the customer and our Technicians. They will communicate the nature of the repair or maintenance required, providing cost estimates, and ensure that the customer is satisfied with the service provided. If you like to help people, then a career in Service would be fulfilling for you.
As a Service Advisor, you would work independently to manage your diary of appointments and liaise efficiently with the Workshop and Parts teams on behalf of the customer. It is this ‘one team’ approach that ensures our Service Departments are some of the best performing in the industry!
When you progress to the level of Senior Service Advisor, your role is to assist the Service Manager and take more responsibility within your team.
You will still be carrying out a lot of the everyday Service Advisor tasks, but you will also support the team and oversee any customer escalations.
You will also be a point of contact for the Vehicle Technicians to communicate the workload they should expect in the workshop.
Our Service Managers across the Group are responsible for all customer relations, procedures, and contacts for service repairs and maintenance through their dealership. They contribute to the development of Service Department plans and budgets, including gross profit, control of indirect and direct expenses, labour efficiency and all related items to achieve financial and customer service targets.
We look for people with experience of managing a team and a proven record in delivering results within a Dealership Service Department for our Service Manager roles. You must be reliable, confident, and able to motivate and support a team to drive performance.
