The Dick Lovett Personnel Team is not like a traditional HR Department. Our Personnel Advisors go above and beyond to ensure everyone feels celebrated during the highest points of their lives and careers, and supported during their lower moments.
No two days are ever the same in our Personnel Department and their importance to the success of the business cannot be overstated. This is why our Head of Personnel is a permanent member of the Company’s Management Board, ensuring that our people are always at the heart of any business decision that we make.
A major area of focus for our Personnel Team is the learning and development of our people. As our most important ‘asset’, we want to make sure that everyone in our business has the opportunity to maximise their potential, and ultimately lead a very satisfying and fulfilling career with Dick Lovett.

Our Personnel Team has a range of responsibilities including:
Recruitment for all of our dealerships
Running our P.R.I.D.E and induction courses for all new employees (Personal Role In Delivering Excellence)
Managing the company payroll
Conducting investigations, disciplinaries, and performance meetings
Preparing contracts
Personal support to employees
Managing the staff benefits packages
Collating reviews
Salary review and gender pay gap reports

To join the Personnel Department as a Personnel Advisor, you must have completed your CIPD to at least Level 5. Other key skills which benefit someone working in a Personnel role are:

In this role, you will be learning how a busy Personnel function works by supporting the administrative processes.
We have over 900 team members at Dick Lovett, and the Personnel team ensures we have up to date details for all of them. This could include their training records, review forms, personal information, and also any significant life events that they might be going through. As you can imagine, this involves a lot of data processing and paperwork.
By joining the team as a Trainee Administrator, you will gain an understanding of the importance of being organised, diligent, and professional to ensure all of our team members are looked after.
The Personnel Administrators co-ordinate all employee administration for the whole of Dick Lovett.
The Administrative team works with the Personnel Advisors to ensure all paperwork is up to date for employees. This includes working with the Payroll team to ensure the monthly salaries are correct with regards to bonus, sickness, and holidays. The Administrators also work hard to help coordinate the Training, Recruitment, and Onboarding functions.
Alongside all of the day-to-day tasks, the Administrators also help with any staff enquiries and are an important point of call for Dick Lovett employees.
As a Trainee Personnel Advisor, you will provide support and assistance to the Personnel Advisors in the day-to-day execution of their responsibilities. This may include tasks such as employee paperwork, taking notes in meetings, and general reporting.
This role will provide you with valuable insights and skills necessary to progress towards becoming a Personnel Advisor.
If you are working towards or have recently acquired your CIPD Level 3, working in our Personnel team would be a fantastic place to get real-world experience as a Trainee Personnel Advisor.
As a Personnel Advisor, your responsibilities will involve making informed decisions, drawing from previous experiences and developed thought processes, to deliver an exceptional Personnel service to our valued employees.
We look for CIPD Level 5 qualifications for our Personnel Advisor roles.
You will work alongside our dealerships to ensure employees and managers are supported and co-ordinate personnel-related meetings for staff. Part of this role also includes ensuring all team members feel that they can come to you for unbiased advice when they need to.
As a Senior Personnel Advisor, your role is to oversee the most important parts of the Personnel function. You will be carrying out high-level personnel meetings, sometimes liaising with the management board to ensure our policies and procedures are relevant and accurate.
You will establish strong working relationships with our Managers and team members, to ensure we are supporting them during the highest and lowest moments of their personal and professional lives.
Your attention to detail and commitment to delivering a consistent and fair outcome will be crucial in achieving our goal of customer satisfaction through staff satisfaction.
As a Personnel Manager, you will play a crucial role in guiding the overall Personnel strategy while providing support and assistance to the team.
Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the consistency, accuracy, and compliance of all staff-related internal communications with the relevant rules and regulations. Additionally, you will oversee the planning and execution of new policies, monitor their effectiveness, and make data-driven decisions to ensure we are operating as a business with our team members in mind.
Your leadership and strategic guidance will be instrumental in driving the success of our Personnel initiatives and maintaining strong integrity as a Group.
