Meet Lianne Brown
Personnel Administrator
Dick Lovett Central Operations The Depot
“You are not “just a number” at Dick Lovett because working for Dick Lovett really is like being part of the family.”
I joined Dick Lovett in March 2019 as a Personnel Administrator and have been in this role ever since. I was looking for a role that helps people and this role is really focused on helping and supporting our people. I also wanted a role with variety; no two days in Personnel are the same and you never know what the day will bring.
I work in a team with six other Administrators, headed up by the Senior Personnel Administrator. The Personnel team are a fantastic group – we all have our specialities within the Department, however, we can all pitch in to help if any member of the team requires. They are very caring, friendly, and will always be on hand if you ever need them.
My role involves supporting the Personnel Advisors with any administrative needs they have; from drafting and sending new starter contracts, processing leavers, to recruitment, saving employee reviews, and helping with Inductions and PRIDE.
I always love it when we hold our PRIDE events. I love meeting and interacting with the delegates, putting faces to names, and getting to know the people from our Dealerships. There is always a good vibe in the office on a PRIDE day and it is very rewarding working with the team to deliver a great day for our employees.
I also support the Payroll team each month by producing the sickness report for all employees across the Group and providing the required paperwork they need to run payroll.
My Mum once said “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time." I think of this whenever I am faced with a big or overwhelming task, both in my professional and personal life. It helps me to remember to break the task down into “bitesize” chunks.
The pandemic brought a whole host of challenges which the team and the Group worked together to overcome. You are not “just a number” at Dick Lovett because working for Dick Lovett really is like being part of the family. The company will always do their best to look after you and support you where they can. You will often see members of the Management Board around the office and our Dealerships, even Rebecca and Peter! They are always willing to speak with you and get to know you better which is very special.
