Sales Administrator
Aston Martin Bristol
Before joining Dick Lovett, I worked as an Administrator for a much larger PLC, so I knew that I already loved the administration role. I was relocating to Bristol and Dick Lovett was a company that I really wanted to work for. I had a few friends that had already made the move to one of the Swindon dealerships and they couldn’t recommend the company enough. It seemed like the perfect opportunity when a new dealership was being built and I was excited to take ownership of the department.
In 2016, I started my career at Dick Lovett, when Aston Martin first opened its doors. Over the years, I've witnessed remarkable growth, both within the team and my own job role, which has doubled in size. The thrill of starting a new role in a brand-new dealership was truly exhilarating. Since then, I have devoted myself to maintaining the department and providing support to the team for the past 7 years.
My everyday activities are very similar to most Administrators throughout the group, our core tasks include maintaining organised sales records. Including invoicing, stocking cars, pushing preparation lines. We oversee raising vehicle payments and liaising with customers, managers and accountants to make sure that payments are made on time and correctly. Additionally, we are responsible for placing orders for new customer cars and pipeline stock cars and communicating between the brand and the dealership. One of our main tasks is to support the sales representatives ensuring that orders are processed promptly and correctly contributing to overall customer satisfaction.
As an administrator keeping track of all the paperwork and ensuring accuracy can be demanding. Meeting tight deadlines can also be stressful, especially during busy periods. Occasionally, you may encounter customer complaints or disputes so resolving these issues must be handled professionally. The motor industry is subject to changing regulations and compliance requirements. It’s crucial to stay up-to-date with these regulations and we must ensure the company adheres to them, which can be a challenge.
I love that no two days are the same, especially working with Aston Martin as they are a complex brand. I relish the opportunity to ensure that everything runs seamlessly and precisely as it should. One of the most enjoyable aspects of my role is the chance to host events, where we get to meet interesting customers along the way. I am also very lucky that my team are also my friends so it’s nice to be able to spend the day with people you genuinely like.
Even though we're not the biggest team at Aston Martin, we always try and support one another. We all bring different skills and knowledge to the table. We try to celebrate every win and work through our losses together.
My journey with Dick Lovett has been truly transformative. Over the past 7 years, I've experienced immense personal growth, thanks to the support and encouragement from the company. Unlike other organisations, Dick Lovett has offered me unique opportunities that have made my role as an administrator not only enjoyable but also deeply fulfilling. Knowing that my ideas and suggestions are always heard and valued fills me with pride in my work. One of my favourite aspects of this company is the direct interaction we have with the management team, a privilege that is highly appreciated by the staff. Being a part of Dick Lovett has been a profound and gratifying experience on both a professional and personal level.
Back in December 2021, I stepped into the role of a trustee for The Lovett Foundation, and since then, it's been an incredible journey. We've been passionately organising and hosting fundraising events, collaborating with local charities, and extending support to empower disadvantaged youths in our community to kickstart their careers. This role was entirely new to me, but it has been an enriching experience, allowing me to learn valuable skills. I am truly grateful for this opportunity, and it’s so nice to see the real impact we're making within our community. Together, we're creating a brighter future for those in need.
