Meet Chris Valentine
Bodyshop Manager
Bristol Bodyshop
“Be the leader you wish you had!”
I joined Dick Lovett as the Bodyshop manager in Bristol, to look after the Bodyshop team of 26 people. I manage the general day to day running of the department. I make sure the team are all trained and competent in their area of expertise, so that all repairs are carried out safely and correctly in line with manufactures guidelines.
Working for Dick Lovett is like working with one big family, I have made great relationships on campus and across other sites as well. I feel really valued and just love every part of being here.
I started as an Apprentice Technician, and over a 10+ year stint in the service world and all roles in between, I progressed to Aftersales Manager.
After working in Service, I decided to make the move to the Bodyshop world. I find more job satisfaction in Bodyshop, from seeing a car damaged from an accident to repair to finished and back to pre-accident condition.
My favourite part about my job is the family feel on the Bristol campus. I work with all the departments across all 4 brands on site as well as Motorrad. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming it made the beginning of my journey with Dick Lovett that much easier!
I have only a short time, so my highlight reel isn’t the biggest after 18 months, but some of my standouts are attending the BMW conference in Liverpool, working as part of The Lovett Foundation, and the support and guidance I have received.
I have faced a few challenges since being here, nothing I haven’t been able to overcome with the support of my colleagues. I have a fantastic team around me, the knowledge, skill, drive and love for being here makes my working days so much better!
I have made lots of positive changes within the Bodyshop already and everything is now falling into place. I’m excited to see all of mine and my teams hard work will get us!
