If you're interested in joining the Dick Lovett team, we welcome you to explore our exciting job opportunities on our dedicated job vacancies page.

We look forward to receiving your application and getting to know you better. Should you have any questions or need further assistance, don't hesitate to contact our Personnel Team.
Application Tips
What are we looking for?
To help with your application, whether you are applying for an entry level job, or a management position, we have put together a list of our top tips to help you send in an application that will make sure you stand out from the crowd.
Explain why you want to work here
Get a great cover letter together to stand out from the crowd.
If you don’t have the most exact experience, tell us why you think we should give you the opportunity to be interviewed.
Tell us about your passion for the brand
If you have a love of cars, engines, or even motorsport, we will love to hear it!
For our customers, their car is their pride and joy, so we want to make sure we hire people who are enthusiastic and caring when it comes to looking after someone’s car and giving them a fantastic experience.
The brands we represent were carefully chosen by the Lovett family, so we also enjoy reading applications which let us know how much working for your favourite brand would mean to you.
Correct grammar goes a long way
When sending over your CV and cover letter, remember to use the spell check tool on your computer.
If you are applying for a job where you need to communicate with customers, we will use your application as an example of how you communicate in writing.
Name your documents
When we get a lot of applications, it is great when they are labelled up with your full name and whether the document is a CV or a cover letter. It looks professional and saves us a job labelling them all up!
Apply for the job you are suited to
If you want to be a Sales Executive but have no sales experience, look out for entry level roles such as Sales Support or Trainee Sales Executive.
Watch Issy’s video to find out about what a General Sales Support gets up to. If you don’t have the relevant experience or key skills, is this job right for you? Do you need to gain some more relevant experience in a similar field before you apply?
Research Dick Lovett
Ensure you do plenty of research on both the brand you are applying to work for and the Dick Lovett company. Our values are what make us stand out from other automotive companies, so make sure you understand our principle of P.R.I.D.E (Personal Role In Delivering Excellence).
Read the job specification and tailor your CV
Try to pick up the key things we are looking for in our job adverts and showcase when you have had experience of this in your work history.
For example, if we are looking for someone who has fantastic customer service skills, highlight that communication was an important part of your job as a football coach or listening to your customers’ needs was imperative in your job as a Guest Services Manager at a hotel.
Show us your personality
We want to employ people who will be a great addition to our business. So if you are friendly, professional, ready to work hard and have fun, let this show through in your application.

When will I hear back about my application?
Every role we advertise has a closing date, and some will be published with a date of a group interview. We aim to get back in touch with you within two weeks of the closing date with an outcome of your application.
Our Talent Team review every CV that comes into our Applicant Tracking system - Smart Recruit Online, so when we have a popular role, it may take longer for us to get back to you.

What is the interview process like at Dick Lovett?
For our entry-level roles, we often conduct group interview events as the first stage of the process. This is a great chance for us to get to know you above what is on your CV and see how you interact in a team environment.
For more experienced roles, we hold first interviews with the Hiring Manager and second interviews with the Head of Business. Our interviews are very conversational to get to know who you are as a person, how you would translate your experience to working at Dick Lovett, and what you can bring to the team.
When you are applying for a managerial role, as well as attending interviews, we may ask you to complete additional tasks or presentations to check your competency for the position.

When do you start recruiting for Apprentices?
We start our Apprentice recruitment in March with Open Days at the dealerships that are looking to take on Apprentices.
We will advertise Apprentice vacancies after the Open Days and will have set closing dates for applications for each location.
Sign up to Job Alerts to hear when the Apprentice Vacancies are live to apply.
Please note, we will not be accepting email applications and will only be reviewing applications that come through our website.
