A high-powered DC rapid charging station, for example, can charge the BMW i5 from 10% to 80% in around 30 minutes. There are different adapters optionally available for charging at home, and on-the-go, with charging power of up to 2.3 kW at domestic sockets and up to 11 kW at industrial sockets.

Another consideration is the trim level, with each of the three options bringing unique features to the design.
