Checking the oil levels in your car is a basic, yet important, maintenance task that is essential to make sure your BMW performs at its very best.
At regular intervals, your vehicle will need an oil change too – our approved technicians are trained to carry out a BMW oil service at our dealerships in Bristol, Hungerford (near Andover and Newbury), Melksham (near Bath) and Swindon.
It’s recommended that your car has an oil change every 10,000 miles but if you drive less than that a year, it’s still worth booking a BMW oil service every 12 months; of course, BMW Electric models won’t require one.
If your vehicle is fitted with the iDrive system, you can use it to check the oil levels in your BMW and to see when your next BMW engine oil service is due. Simply select the Vehicle Information section and then navigate to the services menu. Engine oil is one of the options.
When you book a BMW oil service with Dick Lovett, our technicians will firstly drain away your existing engine oil. Over time, oil can get dirty and contaminated by debris, affecting the performance of your car’s engine.
With the old oil removed, we’ll then replace it with new oil – only using genuine BMW-approved engine oil. BMW engine oil includes Active Cleansing Technology, which helps to keep engine parts clean and protect from wear and corrosion. This keeps the engine as clean as possible and extends engine life.
A quick checklist – we’ll replace the engine oil and oil filter, replace the microfilter for heating/air conditioning; reset the service interval indicator according to manufacturer’s specifications and conduct a visual health check of the car for tyre and brake condition. Get in touch with Dick Lovett BMW for more information.
Prices can vary for a BMW engine oil service, depending on the model you drive, and the age of the vehicle, so contact our dealerships to find out more. The price may also depend on the types of BMW engine oil used in the service. We offer three different types – BMW TwinPower Turbo Silver, BMW TwinPower Gold and BMW M TwinPower Turbo.
If you have a BMW that is three years or older, you’ll be entitled to a BMW Value Service, and will pay less for your BMW oil and filter service.
Included in the service are complimentary recall checks and quality enhancements, a courtesy car if required*, and a video health check. We’ll also wash and vacuum your BMW before you collect it. And, if you want to wait during the service, you can relax in our customer lounge with free refreshments and Wi-Fi.
At Dick Lovett, we also regularly run oil and filter change offers – contact our BMW dealerships in Bristol, Hungerford, Melksham and Swindon to ask for more details.
To help with any unexpected repair costs that might arise after BMW servicing, we offer a 0% APR Monthly Payment Plan. This is available on servicing, parts and bodyshop costs over £250, and provides a repayment period of up to six months**.
