The BMW iX is available in three different configurations. The base level xDrive40 variant of the BMW iX can be found in either Sport or M Sport Trim. This model is powered by dual electric motors which produce 326hp and contribute towards a maximum range of 264 miles (WLTP) on a single charge. Alternatively, the xDrive50 delivers increased performance with an incredible 523hp and extended range of up to 383 miles on a single charge (WLTP). Both models have xDrive all-wheel drive but the xDrive50 has a higher density battery in addition to its higher power output. The xDrive40 benefits from quicker charging times in comparison to the xDrive50 however.
There’s certainly no forgetting about the flagship BMW iX model - the iX M60. This is BMW’s first completely electric M SUV, which combines innovative performance technology with the everyday comfort and overall usability of the iX platform. This model is a brilliant choice for those who seek true BMW M performance alongside the many benefits of electric motoring. With a massive 610hp and 1,100Nm of torque, the iX M60 is incredibly quick - completing the 0-62 mph sprint in as little as 3.8 seconds. That’s all without sacrificing the comfortable and luxurious drive the car is known for. The BMW iX M60 has a slightly lower maximum range in comparison to the xDrive50, at 348 miles (WLTP).
All three BMW iX variants offer something unique. When it comes to charging, the BMW iX offers many options to ensure convenience at all times. While at home using a typical 11 kW charger, you can easily fully charge your BMW iX overnight - the xDrive40 takes around 8 hours while the xDrive50 and M60 are closer to 11 hours because of their larger batteries. While on the go, you can utilise rapid charging stations for an extremely fast top up. 150 kW DC chargers found at service stations and other public areas can recharge theBMW xDrive40 from 10 - 80% in only 31 minutes! There are also the even more powerful 200 kW chargers - these are the fastest possible chargers for the BMW iX and can recharge the larger battery of the xDrive50 and M60 from 10 - 80% in 35 minutes. If you’ve got less time to spare, 93 miles of range can be achieved in only 10 minutes using the same high-power charging station.
You’ll most commonly see the BMW iX equipped with M Sport trim because of its appealing sporty looks and wider availability. Features including Shadow Line exterior trim and M Sport alloy wheels are some of the highlights. M Sport trim is also the only choice available on the xDrive50 model. All BMW iX models come standard with at least the following - BMW Live Cockpit Plus with BMW Curved Display featuring Operating System 8.5 and head-up display, electrically adjustable front seats, seat heating for driver and front passenger, Harman/Kardon surround sound audio system, four-zone automatic air conditioning, Driving Assistant Professional, Parking Assistant, and much more.
