Meet The iX3 Concept SUV

BMW Concept iX3

Meet the revolutionary new BMW Concept iX3 Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV), signalling the future of the BMW X Series.

BMW's first purely electric-powered X model made its debut at Auto China 2018, creating quite a stir. Laden with fifth-generation eDrive technology, this latest BMW concept is an irresistible combination of driving comfort and state-of-the-art functionality.

The BMW of the future

The iX3 Concept offers a glimpse into the future of driving, when there will be total fusion of style and function, and no need to compromise on standards of luxury, technology and driving pleasure.

The BMW Concept iX3 invites you to sink into its luxurious seats and take control. Giving you the touch-perfect handling you'd expect from any BMW X model, enhanced by the highest levels of BMW design. Aerodynamic lines, closed double-kidney grille and smart blue accents are a delight to the eye. Light alloy wheels, Moonstone Silver matt exterior paint finish, and BMW i logos adorning the front and side skirts add to the striking appeal.

Revolutionary eDrive technology

Of course this BMW X3 concept car’s truly revolutionary contribution to motoring lies in its locally emission-free drive system. The eDrive technology, developed specifically for the iX3, elegantly combines the electric motor, transmission and power electronics into a neat unit, and boosts the weight ratio between the motor output and the drive system by around 30% compared to its eDrive predecessor.

Electric performance

The BMW Concept iX3 generates an impressive 270hp via a new powerful (but surprisingly compact) 70 kWh under-floor battery, giving a range of over 249 miles.

In terms of charging capability, the future is certainly bright. The newly developed Charging Control Unit and access to the latest fast-charging stations, means that the groundbreaking iX3 Concept can be fully charged and on the road in just half an hour. Making it almost impossible for even the most hardened electric motoring detractor to argue against.
