We’re very proud at Dick Lovett to be BMW’s longest serving dealer in the UK. The match was made in 1968 and fifty years on, we remain inseparable!
Our founder, Dick Lovett established the original business in 1959. He lived and breathed motorcycles, motor racing and sports cars. Dick also had great business acumen and by the mid-1960s, his Wiltshire based sports car dealership was thriving.
Word of Dick Lovett’s reputation for customer service excellence and expert BMW knowledge reached the Bavarian car maker. The rest, as they say, is history.
Our relationship was cemented over the 1970s and 1980s as we showcased new BMW models, and built on our expertise in renovating the classics.
We now offer over 450 new and used BMWs across our four state-of-the-art, dedicated BMW showrooms in Bristol, Swindon, Melksham and Hungerford.
From modern classics to the BMW 1 Series and brand new BMW M5, we take pride in every model on the shop floor. But our special partnership with BMW doesn’t mean we ever rest on our laurels.
Our relationship with BMW is successful because we reflect the brand’s core values. We aim to transform your dreams into reality, while providing a truly personal service with every attention given to detail.
Our passion for all things BMW and motor racing remains as strong today as it did in 1968. Our mission remains to make your experience of buying a BMW as enjoyable as it should be, with the added reassurance of personalised aftersales support for your car’s entire lifetime.
With over 800 staff, we have, of course, come a very long way since the sixties. But we are still very much a family run business.
Peter Lovett, Dick Lovett’s son, has been our Chairman since the late 1980s. Prior to this, Peter enjoyed a motor racing career that included representing Wiltshire in the BMW County Championship, racing BMW 323i Saloons.
