8-speed Steptronic Sport Transmission

BMW X4 M40d and M40i models come with an automatic transmission. The optional 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission adapts to suit individual driving styles, from comfortable cruising to a dynamic drive.

In addition to automatic gear selection, gears can be changed manually at any time using the selector lever or the shift paddles on the steering wheel. Launch Control, which is included in 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission, enables maximum acceleration from a standing start.

Adaptive M Suspension

BMW Adaptive M Suspension allows you to adjust the ride of your BMW X4 M40d and M40i to meet all of your driving needs. There are three different modes to choose from - comfort mode, sport mode and sport mode plus.

If you are looking for a more relaxed ride, then go for comfort mode which balances out the dampers on uneven roads. Vibrations are lessened for a smoother ride. If you’d rather opt for something a little more sporty, then select one of the two sports modes and the dampers are tightened for more athletic suspension.
