The all new BMW M2 has officially arrived!

The highly anticipated second generation of the M2 sticks to its purist routes while adding incredible new features and even more performance. The M2 remains a true drivers’ car and one of the most exciting additions to the BMW M lineup.

The first thing you’ll notice about the new BMW M2 is the muscular new design philosophy that builds upon the M240i xDrive, with more aggressive design elements such as the wide rear arches and quad exhaust system similar to that seen on the M3 and M4.

With more power than even the previous generation M2 CS, a breathtaking 460 bhp and 550 Nm of torque is at your disposal. All of this is produced through a 3.0 litre twin turbo inline 6-cylinder engine - this power unit differs only in a few details from that of the BMW M3 and M4. The M2 also remains purely rear-wheel drive, which will be music to the ears of many.

Packed with technology, the new M2 comes standard with BMW’s iDrive 8 infotainment system which is controlled through a 12.3 inch instrument display and a 14.9 inch touch-enabled control display.

The new BMW M2 comes packed with features as standard and there are also 3 optional packages that can be fitted. These are:

M2 Comfort Pack - Comfort Access, Heated Steering Wheel and Storage for wireless charging. For only an extra £730, you can add some incredibly useful additional features that will improve the everyday usability of the car.

M Driver’s Pack - Increases maximum speed of the vehicle. This is also included as part of the M Race Track Pack - we highly recommend opting for that package as it adds other features that also improve track driving - the only place you’re going to see the benefit of an increased maximum speed.

M Race Track Pack - Carbon Fibre Interior Trim, M Carbon Roof, M Driver’s Pack and M Carbon Bucket Seats. This package is designed for the real enthusiast and of course those who are looking to drive their new M2 on the race track. This is an extremely popular option thanks to its aesthetic as well as performance enhancements.

Manual Transmission

As an option, the BMW M2’s inline-6-cylinder engine can link up with a 6-speed manual gearbox, creating a performance experience in the classical mould, rooted in the intense interaction between the driver and car. The gear ratios and gear spread are perfectly matched to the performance characteristics of the engine.

A precisely defined shift action enables rapid, easily executed gear changes. Plus, the Gear Shift Assistant uses engagement speed control (rev-matching) to ensure slip-free operation when downshifting under braking into corners. It can be deactivated in the M Setup menu.

M Carbon Bucket Seats

The optional M Carbon bucket seats with illuminated M2 logo and M colour accents combine the lightness and racing character of a bucket seat with the range of functions of an M sport seat. Their fit provides optimum lateral support and high long-distance comfort.

The use of carbon fibre-reinforced plastic in the structural elements of the seat cushion and backrest, together with the cut-outs in the side bolsters and below the head restraints, saves 10.8 kilograms over the M Sport seats. Furthermore, the seats are compatible with multipoint harnesses and therefore fully suitable for track driving.
