Sustainable and dynamic driving in a bold, statement-making Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) – meet the BMW X5 Plug-in hybrid.

The perfect partnership of BMW eDrive power combined with a petrol engine, the X5 xDrive 45e provides the torque and traction you need for long journeys and can switch to all-electric mode for shorter, local trips.

Exterior highlights include the one-piece kidney grille, light alloy wheels, and a split tailgate at the rear, which can be operated electronically to make loading and unloading effortless. The optional panoramic glass roof is an appealing design feature, while there’s generous rear seating space with the option of adding two more seats via a third row.

BMW X5 Plug-in Hybrid

Range & Performance

The BMW X5 PHEV delivers a superb, all-round drive experience and is capable of performing on any number of surfaces. For the most challenging of terrain, the optional xOffroad pack provides four additional driving modes – xSand, xGravel, xRocks and xSnow, all of which can be accessed through Steptronic Sport transmission.

The BMW X5 xDrive 45e has a TwinPower Turbo engine that delivers a combined power output of 394hp, and 0-62mph acceleration in just 5.6 seconds; top speed is 150mph.

Switch to all electric mode for shorter drives and the top speed of the BMW X5 Plug-in hybrid is still an impressive 83mph – certainly quick enough for local journeys. With a pure electric driving range of up to 54 miles, the electric motor has enough juice for those daily trips – significantly cutting your vehicle’s emission output.

Charging

As a plug-in hybrid, the BMW X5 needs to be recharged regularly to ensure its electric motor has the energy it needs. Charging times vary depending on where you charge and what type of power output you use – but there are lots of easy solutions.

BMW Charging provides offers for home charging and public charging, and can give you unlimited access to over 10,000 public charging stations and networks around the UK. Your BMW X5 PHEV comes with a standard charging cable, which is 5 metres in length. And, if you don’t have a bp pulse Homecharge wallbox installed, you can talk to us about getting one fitted so you can enjoy the convenience of recharging overnight.

Charging times vary according to power source. Use a wallbox/public charging point with 3.7kW, 0-100% and charging time is around 7.1 hours. With a household socket of 230V, charge time from 0-80% is approximately 8.8 hours,  extending to 11.8 hours to reach 100% charge capacity.

Deals & Financing

If the BMW X5 Plug-in hybrid is on your new-car shopping radar, we have a choice of deals and financing plans to help you with your purchase. Our Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) plan requires a customer deposit followed by fixed price monthly payments, over a term of agreement which is typically 48 months. At the end of the term, you can choose to buy the X5 outright by paying an optional final fee, which will have been set at the start of the PCP, or return it and seek a new vehicle.

With Personal Contract Hire (PCH), the agreement is similar, but there’s no option to buy the BMW X5 PHEV at the end of the term. The BMW X5 Plug-in hybrid is also available on business lease.
