The BMW X3 is a Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) that can power through most terrains – and its plug-in hybrid model makes for improved, sustainable driving. The BMW xDrive30e, also available with M Sport trim, delivers an excellent drive experience.

The front of the BMW X3 plug-in hybrid has been redesigned, with slimmer LED headlights, new-look bumper and kidney grille. The rear features free-form tailpipes. The interior is sporty in style with perforated Sensatec seats and BMW Live Cockpit Professional, which provides navigation control and a 12.3 inch instrument display. Smartphone integration is available, as is Amazon Alexa Car Integration.

Performance is enhanced by the BMW xDrive all-wheel drive system, which shifts drive power to front and rear wheels depending on the situation – always ensuring the right dynamics and traction for the surface.

Head-up Display, Parking Assistant Plus and Harman/Kardon Surround Sound System are other highlight features of the BMW X3 PHEV.

The BMW X3 plug-in hybrid delivers an impressive combination of PHEV technology and powerful combustion TwinPower Turbo engine.

Fitted with 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission, with selector gear and gearshift paddles, the BMW xDrive30e has a selection of drive modes, including Hybrid, Hybrid Eco, Pro, Electric and Sport/Xtra Boost. Variable sport steering maximises handling, turning and parking, promoting a smoother response and drive.

Top speed with the electric motor and engine combined is 130mph, with a max torque of 420Nm and 0-62mph acceleration in 8.2 seconds. Switch to pure electric mode and that top speed is still a rapid 83mph. Electric range is up to 30 miles, plenty for shorter drives.

Driver assistance systems include Driving Assistant Professional, which has features such as adaptive cruise control, an automatic emergency stop function and lane assistance to help keep you in the correct lane in the event of drifting.

Charge your BMW X3 Plug-in hybrid from home or when out and about – and find public charging points with no hassle or fuss using BMW Connected Charging. BMW Connected Charging helps to direct you to the nearest public charging stations when you’re on the move, so you can find one on your route and top-up the electric motor as and when you need.

Charging times vary depending on the type of charging point you use and the power it provides. Charging from 0-100% is around 3.7 hours using a charge point with a capacity of 3.7 kWh – as you might have with a wallbox or public station – and around 5.9 hours with a capacity of 2.3 kWh, which is the kind you’ll find when charging at home.

Your BMW X3 PHEV comes with a charging cable that can be used when public charging, as well as a BMW Charging Card.

With PCP, you pay a deposit, followed by a series of fixed monthly instalments over an agreed period; for example, 48 months.
