Charging
The battery in the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer PHEV requires regular charging to ensure the electric motor has enough power to function. If you’re considering buying a plug-in hybrid car for the first time though, don’t be concerned – charging is relatively quick and easy to do.
BMW owners can charge their vehicles from home, if they have a charging point installed – if not, it’s simple enough to get one fitted – or at any of the numerous public stations around the country. These are typically located in fuel stations, public car parks, even some workplaces.
Charging times differ. Public charging points are usually more powerful, so you can expect to reach full charge in around two-three hours, while domestic charging takes longer; eight hours or under. However, home charging is convenient, as you can top your BMW up overnight.
