The range-topping new BMW M850i has a revamped 4.4 litres twin-turbo V8 under the bonnet, delivering 523bhp. There's also a new-look 8-speed auto gearbox and a new four-wheel-drive system to keep the driver firmly in control. The system is set up to favour rear-wheel drive whenever possible.

The optional 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission adapts to suit your individual driving style, from comfortable cruising to dynamic driving. In addition to automatic gear selection, gears can be changed manually at any time using the selector lever or the shift paddles on the steering wheel.
