On the first Saturday of December a huge number of Santa's on a Bike members arrived at Dick Lovett Motorrad in Bristol. Coffee and donuts were provided free of charge to supporters ahead of the journey to the Children's Hospice Southwest at Charlton Farm to raise funds for the hospice. The first Santa's run took place in 2004, with 200 volunteer on 170 motorcycles delivering 685 presents to the children at the Barnardo's Home in Bristol. Over the following years the event grew in size. In 2007 the destination of the ride changed to the newly-opened Children's Hospice Southwest at Charlton Farm near Bristol and the focus changed from delivering toys to raising much-needed funds for the hospice.
The riders come dressed as Santas, Elves etc with their bikes festively decorated.
This is a donation only event that has raised much money over the years as well as putting smiles on the face of the children and public as they made their way to the hospices.
We made a total of £572.43 pence in donations for the Children's Hospice South West.
