Introducing the all-new BMW CE 04 electric scooter.

At the annual Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in 2017, BMW Motorrad revealed the Concept Link; a zero-emission scooter that was set to reinvent two-wheeled urban mobility. Now just a few years on, the concept has become reality with the new BMW CE 04.

What’s remarkable is that the radical and futuristic styling on the Concept Link has been carried over to the production electric scooter. The recognisable styling, mixed with a battery range that’s perfect for urban riding, and typical BMW Motorrad riding dynamics, ensures the CE 04 is set to rewrite the rule book for electrically powered urban two-wheel mobility.

Powering the CE 04 is an 61Ah lithium-ion battery derived from the hugely successful BMWi vehicles, linked to an electric motor that produces just over 41bhp and 45.7lb-ft of torque that gives a top speed of 75mph.

When out and about, the CE 04 can charge from 20% to 80% in 45 minutes with an outdoor fast charger. When at home or the office, a 0%-100% charge without a fast charger will take 4hrs 20mins. The CE 04 uses a tubular steel frame with 35mm telescopic forks at the front and a single sided swingarm with adjustable shock at the rear. Also, at the front there’s twin 265mm discs with four piston calipers and a single piston caliper at the rear. Fitted as standard is a reverse gear to aid with parking and manoeuvrability.

A huge specification as standard

Not only is the CE 04 loaded with the very latest EV tech, but there’s also an impressive standard specification. The large 10.25-inch TFT colour screen as seen on the the R 1250 RT, three riding modes, LED lights as well as a ventilated mobile phone charging compartment with USB-C charging port are all fitted as standard.

Optional packages include the ‘City Package’ that adds a centre stand, tyre pressure control, heated seats and alarm. The ‘Comfort Package’ is made up of heated grips and seat with backrest. The ‘Dynamic Package’ features adaptive headlight and Riding Mode Pro that offers a more direct throttle response and better energy recovery.

Two striking colour options

The CE 04 is available in two colour options. The standard ‘Light White’ has a black drivetrain and the large white panels leave plenty of room for customisation or personalisation with business graphics.

The optional Magellan Grey option adds a touch of class with metallic paintwork and contrasting orange features.
