The latest motorcycle from BMW M, the new BMW M 1000 R marks a new era in the hyper roadster market. The riding dynamics speak for themselves both on country roads and on the racetrack.

The heart of the M 1000 R is the engine. It uses a modified, water-cooled four-cylinder in-line engine based on the S 1000 RR. Peak power is 210 hp at 13,750 rpm, 45 hp more than in the S 1000 R. The M 1000 R features revised gear ratios for extra rear wheel traction.

When paired with this astonishing engine, a kerb weight of only 199kg, new M Winglets, M brakes, and focused suspension, it makes for an incredible riding experience.

In addition to the revised engine and suspension technology, aerodynamics are key on the M 1000 R. Straight from the racetrack are the new M Winglets at the front side panels of the bike. These create downforce helping you carry higher speeds through corners to achieve even faster lap times on the track.

They also help riding stability at high speeds. At 135mph, the M Winglets are producing an extra 11kg of aerodynamic downforce over the front wheel, keeping the bike planted on the road.

The M Competition package includes M Carbon wheels, M rider footrest system, M Carbon parts such as rear wheel cover and chain guard, front wheel cover, tank covers, airbox cover with tapes, wind deflector, and sprocket cover.
