The newly-designed engine spoilers and radiator cover bring a fresh look, while the Black Storm Metallic finish gives the new BMW R 1250 R a clean, powerful design.

Race ABS and Automatic Stability Control (ASC) are included as standard to help you keep all that power under control. The combination of these systems provides the rider with excellent acceleration and deceleration figures at threshold level.

Automatic Stability Control

The BMW R 1250 R comes with BMW’s Automatic Stability Control which limits the amount of engine drive torque transmitted according to road surface conditions.

This eliminates rear wheel spin and makes power transmission more efficient, increasing active riding safety significantly in borderline situations, such as when riding in the rain. If regulation of electronics is not required - for example on the race track - you can deactivate the system at the press of a button, even while moving.

BMW Motorrad Race ABS sets the benchmark when it comes to the current technological ABS development in motorcycles. It was developed for super-sporty applications.

At the touch of a button, the rider can select various ranges of applications and engine characteristics, as well as accordingly adapted characteristics for the BMW Motorrad Race ABS. This includes wet road surfaces ("Rain"), street ("Sport"), race track with super sporty tyres ("Race") or race track with slicks ("Slick").
