Automated Shift Assistant (ASA)
The new Automated Shift Assistant (ASA) offers both manual and automated shifting at the touch of a button.
In manual ‘M’ shift mode, you retain full control and can shift gears using the existing gearshift lever on the left foot without the use of the clutch lever, like a traditional quick shifter.
Switch to the ‘D’ mode for fully automated shifts like a DCT or automatic gearbox. Shift ferocity varies based on pre-programmed riding modes such as Road or Enduro.
The new R 1300 GS Adventure features four riding modes as standard. ‘Rain’, ‘Road’, and ‘Eco’ are carried over from the previous generation, but a new ‘Enduro’ riding mode enhances the bike for off-road riding.

The new GS Adventure features a completely redesigned chassis compared to the previous model, with a sheet metal main frame and an aluminium lattice tube rear frame. The state-of-the-art LED headlight is carried over from the R 1300 GS, but in addition the Adventure features two auxiliary headlamps with LED technology that blend into the bodywork.
Available as an option is the new Electronic Dynamic Suspension Adjustment (DSA) that allows on the move adjustment of the damping and spring rate, as well as load compensation when you’re riding with a pillion, or with full luggage.
Like the R 1300 GS, adaptive vehicle height control comfort is also available as an option. The system can automatically reduce the seat height by 30mm at slow speeds.
More attachments, docking elements, and storage than ever. The range of BMW Motorrad accessories includes bags, luggage, and cases, all of which seamlessly fix to the new bodywork and racking. The traditional GS Adventure aluminium cases offer over 73 litres of storage space. With practical details, such as an integrated USB-C charging socket, a payload of up to 10 kg on each side, and plenty of space for a helmet, the R 1300 GS Adventure is ready for anything.
