The Aston Martin Vanquish is a supercar, and the offshoot creation of a Project Vantage concept car. It gained worldwide fame and global awareness after a starring role in the 2002 James Bond movie, ‘Die Another Day’, which announced its arrival.
The first generation Vanquish was produced in 2001, and ran until 2007. The Vanquish S, a more powerful and faster version, was introduced in 2005. The second generation of the Vanquish was in production from 2012-2016, with the updated and improved Vanquish S running from 2016-2018.
While Aston Martin ceased production of the Vanquish in 2018, it remains a highly desirable car and used models are in high demand. At Aston Martin Bristol, you’ll find a choice of top quality, approved used Aston Martin Vanquish cars for sale.
Discover your dream used Aston Martin Vanquish with Aston Martin Bristol.
Even by Aston Martin’s luxury standards, the Vanquish is a coveted model. No longer available as new, the used Vanquish is highly collectable as a glamorous, magnificent example of a two-door supercar.
Available as the Vanquish S in addition to the standard Vanquish, this is a beautifully-designed coupé that delivers satisfying power and performance through its punchy V12 engine. There is also a convertible option, in the shape of the Vanquish Volante.
The Vanquish is an absolute joy to drive. Performance varies depending on which generation of model you own, and which version – the standard Vanquish or the Vanquish S.
Drive a first generation Vanquish, and its V12 engine returns 460hp, with 0-60mph in 5 seconds and a top speed of 190mph. Newer versions improve on that, which is a factor to consider when making a buying decision.
With its carbon fibre body , the Vanquish feels light and agile, with responsive steering and sharp handling. Adaptive dampers enable the driver to set the suspension system, and optimise ride comfort.
Getting into the Vanquish is made easier by the butterfly-style doors that open upwards as well as outwards. Once inside, you’ll be impressed by the interior, which features leather upholstery and elements of chrome styling. Some used models may come with upgraded features, too – look out for the One-77 steering wheel, inspired by the then fastest-ever Aston Martin, which was strictly limited edition only.
The infotainment features include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring (on models produced between 2017 - 2018), DAB radio and, in selected models, perhaps the overall highlight – a Bang and Olufsen audio system.
*Key features of a used Aston Martin Vanquish could include:
A used Aston Martin Vanquish has a 2+2 layout, so technically, there’s room to accommodate four people. The front seats – which can be adjusted electrically – feature a generous amount of leg room especially. In the rear, like many sports coupés, there’s a little less space so it’s more suitable for children, or as extra storage. There was also the option of removing the rear seats, at no extra cost, to increase that storage capacity.
The boot of the 2nd generation Vanquish has a respectable 368 litres of capacity, which drops down to 279 litres in the open-top Volante.
When built, Aston Martin claimed the Vantage was its safest vehicle yet, with Dynamic Stability Control and multiple airbags – front and side – adding to the protective features as standard.

There were two generations of the Vanquish, but unless you’re intent on the older version – which might now be available as part of our classic stock – it’s likely that you’ll be looking at used models from 2012 to 2018.
That production period saw the second generation of the Vanquish, with updates to the range also incorporated. Buyers have a choice of two different variants, the standard Vanquish and the Vanquish S.
The Vanquish S is the faster and more powerful model, but only fractionally. A used Aston Martin Vanquish has a V12 6.0-litre engine that delivers 568hp, a top speed of 201mph and 0-60mph in 3.6 seconds. With the Volante version, top speed is 197mph, with 0-60mph in 3.8 seconds.
Compare that to the Vanquish S, which can reach 0-62mph in 3.5 seconds and claims the same top speed. Engine power can get to 600hp.
Those performance stats apply to models following the updates rolled out by Aston Martin in 2016. This saw the introduction of an eight-speed automatic gearbox, replacing the previous six-speed version. Aston Martin used Vanquish models produced with six-speed auto transmission will see marginally slower acceleration, reaching 0-62mph in 4.1 seconds. Still fast, but not the fastest available.
Both the used Aston Martin Vanquish and Vanquish S are available in the convertible-style Volante version, too. If cruising in the open air appeals, it’s good to know that the roof is a fabric lightweight design and weighs only around 9kg, so there’s little to no impact on performance. It takes just a few seconds to get up or down, making it convenient as well as stylish. The compromise comes with that smaller boot, but when you’re cruising around on a hot summer’s day you might consider that a tiny price to pay.
There is another model version to consider – if you’re fortunate enough to find it. Aston Martin produced a very limited number of S Ultimate models – only 175 – which were released in 2018. Including a unique quilted seat design, among other exclusive features, it’s a premium version of the Vanquish and priced accordingly.
