Aston Martin fans everywhere have been waiting impatiently for the arrival of the new manual Vantage AMR. At last, that wait is nearly over.

Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the last quarter of this year. But don’t get complacent. For the time being at least, just 200 will be available worldwide. 59 of which will be emblazoned with the 'Vantage 59' livery celebrating the 1959 Le Mans-winning DBR1.

The Vantage AMR’s unique character

The AMR is truly a driver's car with the Aston Martin Vantage body but a full manual gearbox. And that new third pedal will add a whole extra layer of excitement to this classic model.

The added thrills don’t stop there. This manual Vantage will have carbon ceramic brakes, unique trim detail and a new seven-speed transmission unit. Inspired by iconic motorsport configurations, it has a dog-leg shift on first gear, with the other gears laid out in the usual double-H shape.

While the manual’s chassis is the same as the standard Vantage model, the AMR benefits from the latest update of Aston Martin's Skyhook adaptive damping technology.

The Vantage AMR’s fabulous figures

Gliding out of the factory at 95kg lighter than the standard Vantage, the AMR will give you a driving experience like no other. Powered by a 4.0 litre, 510PS/625Nm twin-turbo V8 engine, which tops at a staggering 195mph and shifts from 0 - 60mph in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it 3.9 seconds.

Of course, the manual gearbox puts you in control of all gear changes, but the AMR also includes a revolutionary new system called AMSHIFT – a rev-matching system that ensures smooth downshifts. It enables you to flatshift (change gear without lifting off the throttle) when you're accelerating hard. Don't want the help? Don't worry – you can switch off AMSHIFT if you prefer.
