To celebrate the golden anniversary of the first flight of the world’s only supersonic passenger jet Aston Martin Lagonda and British Airways have teamed up to create the DBS Superleggera Concorde Edition.
Strictly limited to just 10 cars to be built by Aston Martin’s bespoke Q Division, the DBS Superleggera Concorde Edition, is commisioned by Aston Martin Bristol.
To honour how Concorde inspired a generation of aeronautical engineers, part of the proceeds from each Concorde Edition DBS Superleggera will be donated to a cause close to our hearts, the Air League Trust, a not-for-profit organisation that teaches under-privileged children how to fly and work in engineering. Dedicated to supporting the UK's aviation and aerospace industries, it is the UK's largest provider of flying scholarships and bursaries.
Honouring Concorde’s engineering and technological legacy
British Airways and Aston Martin are globally recognised British brands that represent this country’s international reputation for technical excellence, distinction and innovation. A reputation embodied in Concorde and the new DBS Superleggera, which epitomises the synergy between aeronautical and automotive innovation.
Aston Martin Bristol and British Airways in partnership with the Air League Trust, will use the money raised to run a week-long summer scholarship programme for young people at Cranfield University.
Support from British Airways and Aston Martin has significantly helped increase the impact of these scholarship programmes. In turn, these programmes contribute to the UK skills pool by inspiring and training future engineers and scientists – many of whom will go on to become powerful influencers and innovators in the industry.
Concorde lives on in the DBS Superleggera Concorde Edition
Alpha Foxtrot, the last ever Concorde to be built, touched down for the final time at RAF Filton, just a runway’s length away from Aston Martin Bristol and Concorde’s final resting place.
Each DBS Superleggera Concorde Edition will feature many exquisite design features celebrating the aircraft’s remarkable achievements. The paddle shifters will be made from the original Concorde metal and the famous Mach Meter will be embroidered on sun visor. The black tinted carbon fibre roof and side strakes will be subtly adorned with Concorde’s unmistakable silhouette.
Each limited edition car will bear one of the unique CAA aircraft identifier numbers of the British Airways Concorde fleet and a bespoke inspection plaque signed by Aston Martin Lagonda President Andy Palmer and British Airways Chairman Álex Cruz.
Jet into the history books and support British talent
The Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Concorde Edition is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to own a piece of aviation and automotive history (and a piece of Concorde), it’s also a fantastic way to show your support for the next generation of home-grown engineering talent.
