A ‘ferocious farewell’ and a very warm welcome to the most powerful Aston Martin production car ever.
It’s time to introduce you to what we have all been waiting for. The final flagship edition and a fitting farewell to the DBS Superleggera, the Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate. When a vehicle as iconic as the DBS reaches the end of production, we hope that the occasion is marked with something special. Rest assured, as our friends at Aston Martin have done just that.
Meet the DBS 770 Ultimate, the final iteration of the V12-engined DBS and the most powerful Aston Martin production car in its history. This astonishing special edition is limited to just 499 examples globally with 300 Coupé and 199 Volante models in the production line up. And it may come as no surprise to learn that they are already all sold out!
What makes this DBS so special? This is said best by Aston Martin’s CTO, Roberto Fedeli:
Thanks to a comprehensive suite of improvements to the transmission, steering, suspension, and underbody structure, the DBS 770 Ultimate is also the best to drive.
For starters, Aston Martin has elevated extra power from the car’s 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine by modifying the air and ignition pathways, now producing 759bhp and an acceleration of 0-62 (0-100km/h) in 3.4 seconds. But that’s not all. The DBS 770 Ultimate is matched with the already loved eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox and 900Nm output to deliver a top speed of 211 mph. However, Aston Martin have recalibrated the gearbox to speed up shift times, as well as solidly mounting the steering column and adding adaptive dampers to allow for better driving feel and comfort over those long distances.
Although this may be the most powerful DBS in production, there is definitely more to shout about than its V12 engine and 770PS at 6400 rpm. This special edition is as astonishing with its exterior design as what's under the bonnet. And what a place to start, as the new horseshoe-cut out engine vent, elegantly compliments its new front splitter and even more carbon fibre elements are included to accentuate the racer appearance, that is, the 770 Ultimate. It certainly brings back fond memories of the unforgettable Vantage F1 Edition.
The exterior of the DBS 770 Ultimate is where aggressive meets elegant. You may have spotted them already, but yes, we can confirm, this V12 comes with 21” lightweight gargantuan honeycomb inspired alloy wheels. Beautifully said by Aston Martin themselves: “furious symmetry encased in honey”.
To match its breathtaking exterior, Aston did not not shy away when designing its cabin. The 770 Ultimate is as stunning from the inside as it is from the outside. This model has been uplifted into the ultimate modern day grand tourer with carbon fibre bucket seats (optional) whilst trimmed with leather and alcantara. As well as the front, a new prominent rear diffuser gives the DBS that meaner look while sporting more carbon than ever.
Now for the lucky 499 customers, who are currently waiting on their history in the making. Aston Martin have assured that their Q Division Team will be offering further customisation and personalisation from unique graphic packs, tinted carbon fibre and leather trims to an array of wheel colours available.
