Our story

Dick Lovett remains a family-run business. We are as passionate about cars and motorbikes as our founder Dick Lovett was when he set up his first dealership selling motorcycles, known as Ross Motors, in Leicestershire in 1959.

In 1966 he began trading under his own name, and with that, Dick Lovett Specialist Cars was born.

We understand the needs of the modern motorist and our dedicated Sales, Service, Parts and Bodyshop teams are committed to making your experience as straightforward and pleasurable as possible.

More than 50 years of experience as a leading car specialist

Almost ten years after setting up Ross Motors, Dick Lovett set up Dick Lovett Specialist Cars in 1966 from the family home, Fairwater House, in Wroughton.

The company quickly built a reputation for selling top quality specialist cars, such as the Porsche 356, Lamborghini Miura and Ferrari 250 SWB. A year later, his son Peter joined the business and officially took the helm ten years later.

We are proud to be the longest serving official BMW partner in the UK, a connection that goes back to 1968. Today you can find Dick Lovett BMW and Dick Lovett MINI dealerships in Bristol, Hungerford, Melksham (near Bath) and Swindon.
