Porsche Centre Bristol were proud to be part of Porsche GB’s 2016 Restoration Competition. The theme for the competition was “40 Years at The Front” which in 2016 coincided with the 40th Anniversary Celebrations since the launch of the first “transaxle” Porsche; the 924. At Porsche we are lucky enough to possess a brand and model history that is the envy of most other manufacturers. With a history spanning over 65 years we have sold over 130,500 vehicles in the UK market alone. 75% of all these vehicles remain on the road to this day and they are celebrated and cherished now more than ever. Furthermore, Porsche Classic models make up over half the vehicle parc in the UK, so our journey began with our vehicle of choice; a 1982 Porsche 924 finished in Glacier Blue having covered 78,200 miles.
The entire vehicle was stripped for a full body paint, both wings replaced and the paint was removed back to the metal, this was then resurfaced and resealed before a full respray. At our Centre we carried out a complete strip and rebuild of the engine with the entire engine being cleaned and vapour blasted.
This car also benefits from a lovely service history.
To finish our restoration a new Porsche Classic Navigation was fitted, new tyres, service and MOT.
