Rumours of collaboration between Apple and BMW

After a visit by the Apple executives to the Germanys car maker factory in Leipzig, rumours of the possible collaboration between BMW and Apple have been boosted.

During their visit Apple put forward detailed questions about the production and tooling and BMW signalled their readiness to license parts. There are no plans currently for jointly developing a vehicle but talks between the senior managers about this topic may be revived in the near future.

The rumours would see Apple using the body of BMW 'i' vehicles as the basis for an Apple car. It has been noticed that Apple wish to explore developing their own car under the secret name currently 'Project Titan' but BMW are hesitant to let Apple into their manufacturing know-how as wants to avoid being a supplier for a software giant like Apple.
