Porsche Centre Bristol sponsors Bristol's own Carrera Cup driver Dino Zamparelli
Dino Zamparelli finished with a third and fifth position after a disappointing qualifying round at Oulton Park last weekend.
The GT Marques driver was forced into 'damage limitation' mode after qualifying in seventh place on the grid in the latest round of the Porsche Carrera Cup.
The Bristolian driver said: "We had a really bad qualifying session and that put us on the back foot for the two races. There were just a few things that we didn't quite get right for Qualifying, and it's now an area we absolutely must improve, if we want to challenge for future races.
"We had to just try and claw back as many points as possible. We knew we'd be really fast in the races, and we showed that, but Oulton Park is a very difficult circuit to overtake on as it has so many tight corners."
Despite starting in seventh on the grid, Dino Zamparelli managed to battle up to fifth in the first race which meant he started in that position in the second race.
The 23-year-old then managed to clinch the third place podium position in the second race meaning he remains in second place on the leader board.
"It was frustrating to lose key points to the series leader. We had the pace in the races but couldn't challenge him with our qualifying results. It's all about qualifying and starting higher up, and we gave ourselves far too much to do with a bad qualifying.
"We will now go away and really focus on what we can do to improve for qualifying. We have already got one or two changes we know we can make; so we'll go back, regroup and focus back in on challenging at Croft in two weeks."
Zamparelli is back out for rounds seven and eight at Croft circuit on Saturday, June 18th and Sunday, June 19th where he will be looking to bounce back quickly.
"We are testing at Croft the week before the race which will give us a good chance to get to know the circuit and to put in to practice some of our ideas for qualifying. We're confident of challenging for a clean sweep at Croft."
Porsche Centre Bristol are sponsoring Dino on his journey and we wish him all the best.
