Officially launched today on the 1st March ahead of it's public premiere at the Geneva Motor Show, the all-electric Jaguar I-Pace is more than a crossover SUV, it’s a technological leap. Nothing short of the most radical car Jaguar has launched in 81 years!
We're very excited at Dick Lovett to give you more information about this exciting car...
Jaguar call the I-Pace ‘the first electric vehicle for enthusiasts who love driving.’ Being green doesn’t mean you can’t have fun.
Built from the ground up, a unique JLR-developed electric motor is integrated into each axle. Similar to those found in the Jaguar I‑TYPE Formula E racing car, these deliver impressive power and torque with instantaneous acceleration through a single speed epicyclic gearbox.
“Their superior torque delivery compared to internal combustion engines transforms the driving experience,” according to Ian Hoban, JLR’s Vehicle Line Director.
The advanced Lithium-ion battery pack takes the I-Pace 298 miles* on a full charge, with just 45 minutes needed to achieve an 80% recharge using a 100kW charger.
Aluminium body panels, familiar across the Jaguar line-up, minimise weight to enhance performance and range. While a full length panoramic glass roof creates a light, airy cabin to complement the silent and satisfying driving experience.
Adjustable regenerative braking, similar to KERS in Formula 1 enables you to recapture the energy rather than wasting it when slowing down, which improves the range on the I-Pace.
This comes in the form of low and high regeneration modes, the latter enabling single-foot driving meaning you rarely have to touch the brake unless you want to come to a complete stop. Not only are stopping distances reduced, but less wear on discs and pads improve the environmental credentials of this car.
Space? You’ve got plenty. The I-Pace fits neatly between the popular E-Pace and F-Pace models.
Performance? How about 0-60 in 4.5 seconds, thanks to 395bhp and 516lf/ft of instant torque. Is that enough?
Versatility? The I-Pace features four-wheel drive, a genuine SUV experience, and a futuristic cabin with no transmission tunnel and a ‘floating’ centre console.
Zero vehicle emissions? The I-Pace is the first fully electric car to deliver a true SUV experience.
The I-Pace will be available in the second half of 2018, with prices from £63,495.

*Figure based on WLTP (Worldwide harmonised Light vehicle Test Procedure) is the new process that has been phased in from 2017, which measures fuel, energy consumption, range and emissions in passenger vehicles in Europe. This is designed to provide figures closer to real-world driving behaviour. It tests vehicles with optional equipment and with a more demanding test procedure and driving profile.
