The new S 1000 RR from BMW is now available and set to revolutionise the supersports class. Having blown the competition out of the water in 2009, this popular bike is back and ready to prove it's the very best, once more.
Having had not just a facelift but a deep redesign, the third-generation S 1000 RR creates a formidable silhouette. Showing its increased power in every curve, the S 1000 RR features a razor-sharp flyline, with the volume of the contours and shapes perfectly balanced. Each trim component has been redesigned, including the headlamp element, where the symmetry has been given greater emphasis. In addition, the weight has been reduced to just 204kg fully fuelled, so the power is more noticeable. Available in Racing Red with Light White, Black Storm Metallic or Lupin Blue Metallic with Light White and Racing Red highlights, the S 1000 RR can be specified to suit your style and tastes.
A newly designed instrument panel displays ride data in a clear way that can be adapted to your requirements for each ride. What's more, there is plenty of scope for personalisation with the S 1000 RR. Opt for forged aluminium wheels to save weight and improve handling. These wheels come fitted with either Pirelli Diabolo Supercorsa SP C or Continental Conti Race Attack Compound tyres to provide optimum traction.
The S 1000 RR produces a gargantuan 199hp and 113Nm of torque, making this the most powerful S 1000 RR ever built. The bike has a classic dual water and oil-cooled four-cylinder four-stroke in-line engine, producing raw power for the purest ride on two wheels. The mechanically operated multi-plate anti-hopping clutch is situated in an oil bath for silky-smooth gear changes.
ABS and Automatic Stability Control (ASC) are included as standard on all S 1000 RR models to help you keep the raw power under control. Select the mode for the right balance of traction for each ride from Rain, Sport and Race modes. In addition, Slick and User Modes are available as optional extras to incorporate the suspension set-up into your ride settings.
